Reminder for Ohio residents: Monday at 9 p.m. is the deadline to register to vote in this year's general election (for which early voting begins the following day). Registration can be done online, at vote.ohio.gov, as well as in-person at your county's board of elections office.

The campaign of Dr. Amy Acton, Ohio's Democratic candidate for governor, says "an armed individual lunged" at her during a visit to the Canfield Fair on Sunday. The campaign went on to stay "multiple people" were injured, as a result, and expressed gratitude to law enforcement.

What a quick call in this race, which also happens to buck this year's trend of longtime Democratic incumbents losing against a primary challenger. In this case, Markey appears to have demonstrated more credibility as a progressive, which really matters in a state like Massachusetts.
