I'm in the process of switching to Linux, and I've installed CachyOS on an old laptop I've had lying around to get comfortable with it before I switch my main system. I am genuinely blown away by how much faster it is than Windows. This hardware is over a DECADE old but runs like it's brand new.

I use synthetic dyes! It takes a while to boil the cage in the dye, but the nylon filament the cages are made of slowly absorbs the color. In my experience it doesn't require any special care and doesn't fade, since the pigment gets fully absorbed.
