I was curious about Elsa (daughter of Elsie & Leo Pondelick), the informant on my Gram's DC. Here is Elsie's 1940 #repatriation doc. But wasn't she born in the USA? Yes! But she lost her #citizenship in 1916 when she married Leo, an #immigrant who became a citizen in [checks notes] 1924. #Genealogy

In what we now refer to as "The Great Ham Caper of 2013," our cat jumped up on the kitchen counter where slices of ham were cooling when I'd stepped away for a minute. She grabbed a huge slice & dropped it over the side of the counter where our dog was waiting for it. They were partners in crime!

My parents always told me that voting was private, and they never discussed their voting choices. Looking at pics of our house ca. 1980, though, there were definite signs of how they voted. We were the 2nd family in the neighborhood with #solar hot water. Rest in peace, #JimmyCarter.
