Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 23/08/2026This was a fierce battle between the zoomer contingent and the boomer contingent at Vercel we lost KMS and we lost Vercel Container Registry too 020
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 10/08/2026Ah I see, yeah putting an external proxy in front of our firewall removes most of its ability to protect you since it can no longer understand traffic origins The vercel native solution would be to replace nginx with a vercel.ts/json file that rewrites to your services vercel.com/blog/how-we-...vercel.comHow we run Vercel's CDN in front of DiscourseVercel Community uses Vercel as a CDN in front of monolithic servers like Discourse or Wordpress. Use microfrontends to incrementally migrate to a new app. 010
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 10/08/2026Hey, Vercel here, can you explain more about what's happening with the API? 110
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 15/03/2025I have a small collection of framework templates here You can filter, search, or add new ones to the list Or add the MCP server and cursor/claude can use this when spinning up new projects www.pkgless.com/templatespkgless.compkglessTemplates - Pkgless 030
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 17/01/2025Definitely not, I’ve had times in the past that have almost killed me and I don’t think I could handle multiple at once 040

Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 15/01/20252 weeks into One Meal a Day I can clearly see how much more focused I am before I eat Which leads me to a scary thought: What if the only reason I’ve been a night owl my whole life is because I eat three meals a day so I never stop digesting 030
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 04/01/2025Remix used to ship with a “hey developer, you can do a better job handling errors than this” and link to the docs Now I think it just prints plain text and logs the link to the docs 010
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 03/01/2025this file/diff UI is so much fun file -> diff: just edit the before/after version diff -> file: just apply it to any base make a pkg with a bunch of files/diffs if you ship a file, users get the file if you ship a diff, users can apply it themselves 0100
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 01/01/2025I like self closing but as long as they work in JSX I don’t really care what rules they use for HTML 110
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 31/12/2024isn't this just a lack of error boundary being set up? no framework excuses devs who don't care 340
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 31/12/2024Is there a related issue when chrome dev tools are open? I’ve deleted react devtools and it doesn’t help here but this is way above my pay grade to debug bsky.app/profile/jaco... 010
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 31/12/2024I like “feed two birds with one scone” but what’s the equivalent for “I don’t have a dog in this fight” 450

Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 30/12/2024oh I didn't realize vercel put that there automatically, I was just testing whether I could deploy right when RR7 first launched but it required an update to vercel's builder script 010
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 30/12/2024Yeah there is a discoverability issue though where when people can’t find the config they need, they assume it’s not possible 000
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 30/12/2024I don’t think there’s a hard blocker, there’s just been way more important stuff to work on as they get a million users a week 030
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 28/12/2024Just finished it, there’s enough changes to the bobiverse you should at least read a synopsis before continuing I But it could have been half the length or shorter 020
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 27/12/2024After I finished the 3 body problem (loved them) someone recommended Fear the Sky and it started strong but I had to stop it after the first terminator fight Too much spy thriller, too little sci fi I’ll probably finish the bob books though 110
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 26/12/2024I’m halfway through now, they’re more like otters but yeah this seems to be the whole plot The other books were a bunch of little stories going on all at once This one is much more singularly focused 110

Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 21/12/2024ideal endgame is a framework that implements these dimensions well enough that you can switch between server-defined and client-defined as a lever per route/component 120

One challenge of native bundlers is that they have to ship and run as wasm in browser environments. Some bundlers like rspack doesn't even support this due to the complexity it involves. 322822
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 18/12/2024it's less about people not noticing it: people WILL see the dot, and they'll rightfully assume that means new posts but that doesn't mean they'll notice it's a refresh button. I think this is fine anyway 000
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 18/12/2024sorry mixed up there – right is better once you know how it works, but also has no discoverability. left is discoverable but clunky 100
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 18/12/2024definitely the right, the fewer floating action buttons the better. BUT left has no discoverability. I see people regularly just discover that they can tap the home button to scroll up on twitter, even now 130
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 17/12/2024you can always tell when these are new because there's no dan brown books yet 070
Jacob Paris @jacobparis.com · 17/12/2024Years of Twitter has programmed a panic response when I open the app and it says 30+ notifications But here that just means 30 people liked a post 0180
