Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I'm not saying it's good, but I am saying "it rocked". 020
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 07/10/2026The first thing I did after seeing Digger was google if Hideo Kojima has seen it. It was a rave review (main feed photo post of the link up). A completely inelegant satire in the same way he would produce. A layered spectacle that has all the charm of a White House press briefing (complimentary). 120
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Do I have the mental resolve to see Digger today? 120

Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I loved The Addams Family movies but had to step away during the voodoo doll scene bc I thought that was real and the concept made me spiral. 020

Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I also stepped back and watched a few epis of the original series. I can’t say this for sure, but it makes me appreciate how much TNG invented and changed. So far it has a lot of personality but isn’t the show I feel in love with-more of a Twilight Zone in space (complementary, I loved TZ as a kid) 170
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Star Trek watching update: After finishing TNG, I learned that DS9 aired concurrently. Oops. I found a release orders respecting watchthrough guide and will do Voyager. VERY excited that DS9 will be about the Bajorans. I love the moodiness and vibe of the show compared to TNG. 6201

Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Well there goes 13 years of progress. I spent more than $40k on Banana Boosts and overalls upgrades for nothing. 190

Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Took me so long to realize Disco=Discovery. I look forward to getting there. This is my first watch-through. 110
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Yeahhhh I went ahead and blocked that Ben K guy. Getting really mad about creationism when it's a panspermia plotline plotline is weird. You're right, it's a funny nod to how all the aliens are bipedal and human-like due to budget constraints on puppets, vfx, and makeup/costuming. 010
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 19/09/2026STRICTLY no caffeine after 11am. No sugar after 8pm, especially chocolate. Bed time routines really help put you in the mindset. Whatever it is, consistency is really key, especially at first. 120
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Listen to a chatty podcast (on a sleep timer) before bed. It gives your mind something to work on while your body shuts down. This is a great scroll replacement. I keep a Notion page for project/life tracking. This helps "offload" thoughts, ideas, and to-do lists, especially before bed. 110
Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 19/09/2026I've had sleep issues my whole life and it took me several years to figure out that it was mostly lifestyle changes: Keep a consistent bedtime, but also keep a consistent wake time. Bedtime can't be midnight or 2am. Lower doses of melatonin. I take half a 3mg pill. 110

Jacob Blank @jacobblank.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Fab book. Five stars. Spencer R Scott is a very fresh, radical, and warm voice in climate and nature writing (a genre I read a lot of). Could be your first or 20th book on the topic. (eARC provided by NetGalley/HarperOne with no impact on my review or opinion, or obligation to post here) 040
