I’ve never been a big horror film fan, but in the last month alone I’ve seen three that could feature in my favourites of the year list. Have I been converted or has Hollywood just upped its horror game in 2026? Read my latest movie blog to find out ⬇️ jackraff91.wordpress.com/2026/06/08/i...

Is 2026 the year I finally became a horror fan?

Why has 2026 been such a standout year for horror films?

Ahead of #NonLeagueDay tomorrow, here’s a little round up of what some of our local Leicestershire clubs have to play for this weekend and for the rest of the season. There is plenty going on and well worth seeking out a game on Saturday! 🧵👇

There were some great picks tonight, but Robert Aramayo winning Leading Actor for I Swear is one of the best choices ever. And his Dad’s reaction was just a beautiful moment of telly! Hopefully everybody now goes to watch I Swear as it’s a wonderful film. #EEBAFTAs #Baftas

Today was me mamma’s funeral, which was obviously a sad day but also a lovely celebration of everything that made her so amazing. Loved talking about old times, including her occasional cameos on the radio when she inevitably stole the show like this ❤️⬇️ www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Why does the poster for the new Wuthering Heights film have the title in quote marks? Implying it’s not actually Wuthering Heights, but a film just claiming to be. Are we meant to do the ironic air quote fingers when we say ‘I’m going to see “Wuthering Heights”’, like it’s not true? I need answers.

We’re barely into January and there’s a very good chance I’ve already seen the best film that’ll be released in the UK in 2026. Hamnet is a masterpiece. I’ve put some thoughts about it together here 👇 jackraff91.wordpress.com/2026/01/18/h...

Hamnet: Have we already seen the best film of 2026?

Whenever I bother to pick up my laptop and actually do some writing, it tends to be for the big moments. That’s either in the build up to the Oscars or to rank my favourite movies of the year…

Leicestershire’s own Posy Sterling is nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star award. That comes after winning the BIFA for Breakthrough Performance. I wrote about her incredible performance in Lollipop in my Films of 2025 blog 👇 jackraff91.wordpress.com/2026/01/07/m...

The annual trip to the club shop is starting to get more and more expensive, but if the nephew is being forced into a life of being a Leicester fan, it’s only fair that the niece is too! 🦊

For one final time… Heard rumours that Leicester’s Nigerian midfielder was going to complete a move to Besiktas. Ndidi? Yes, he did… 😢 #LCFC 🦊

Today is 10 years since I left my old office job to have a go at a radio career, having been offered just 6 freelance shifts initially. Turns out it was the best decision I’ve ever made and now I’ve got my literal dream job that I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. I feel very lucky.

Based on what I’ve seen on the telly, the Scissor Sisters have put on the best show at Glastonbury this year by an absolute mile. #Glastonbury2025

I’m on an hour delay watching the 1975 at Glastonbury. In real time, has Matty Healy finished that pint of Guinness yet? It’s not gone down in three songs so far from what I’m watching. #Glastonbury2025

Had such a laugh talking films with Damon, so much so that he’s had to split it into two episodes. Give part 1 a listen now, and check out the back catalogue too as it’s a brilliant pod 👇

✍️ 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 ✍️ The #Oscars2025 are on Sunday! I'm excited, especially since there are some very interesting nominations this year. But The Academy did overlook some absolute gems. I've written a bit on what they may have missed ⬇️ jackraff91.wordpress.com/2025/02/25/o...

Oscars 2025: The nominations they missed

The Academy got a lot right again this year. But I’ve still had a moan about what they got wrong…

At the Phoenix in Leicester tonight to see one of my favourite films, Donnie Darko, on the big screen for the first time. I cannot wait! Part of DMU’s Cine-Misfits film festival and chosen by their film studies students, so big up to them. Such a cool course. Support local independent cinema!

An entire plot device centred around a turnip being there just to set up the ‘what a turn-ip for the books’ gag is exactly why Wallace & Gromit will always be the peak of British culture. #VengeanceMostFowl

Interesting quotes from Van Nistelrooy today, who was keen to discuss some of the youngsters at the club. Jeremy Monga, Henry Cartwright and ‘young JJ’ Jayden Joseph have all been training with the squad. Cartwright was mentioned a couple of times as a midfield option… #LCFC 🦊

Believe it or not, we're almost halfway through the (not so) roaring 20s. Despite cinemas being shut for part of the decade, they have thankfully survived and arguably thrived with some belting films released. So here are my faves of the 2020s so far 👇 jackraff91.wordpress.com/2024/12/10/m...

Ruud van Nistelrooy has just given his first press conference as Leicester manager. He started by going around the room shaking every single journalists hand and introducing himself. A certain Mr Ranieri did the same thing nine years ago, so he’s already off to a good start! #LCFC 🦊💙

Back as a student I went to a Man Utd vs Real Madrid legends game at Old Trafford, but was so hungover I fell asleep in the stands. Was a Van Nistelrooy goal in the second half that woke up me. Probs won’t bring it up when we meet next week.

My mate has just text. Early chant suggestion for van Nistelrooy. To the tune of the Rihanna song… ‘Come on Ruud boy, boy, can you keep us up?’ 🎵 If this ain’t blaring out at Brentford tomorrow I’ll be disappointed, Blue Army! 🦊💙
