After waking up way too early, went to my favorite breakfast spot to get started with my day. Sweet potato hash with over easy eggs, wheat toast, veggie sausage, and a bowl of fruit.
Breakfast: Two veggie sausage patties with a slice of wheat toast; a faux iron skillet filled with a sweet potato hash including diced sweet potatoes, a sofrito of peppers and onions, two over easy eggs, and sautéed spinach; a bowl of fruit with strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple; a tall plastic tumbler of iced tea. The table has a pattern of palm leaves.

We spent our last day at the parks at Epcot. Not sure when my next trip to Disney is going to be, would like to get another trip in before my annual pass expires in mid-March. Hope y’all enjoyed the photos!
The majesty of the Morocco pavillion. I refuse to take pictures of the fountains they desecrated with shoddy tile work. What is your favorite Epcot pavilion and why is it Japan? 🇯🇵 Great shot of the Golden Dream anchored in World Showcase Lagoon near the American Adventure.

Saturday we had Breakfast à la Art! At Topolino’s Terrace. This is my favorite character breakfast on property.
Me and my pal Topolino at breakfast. This picture of me and Donald is terrible. A much better picture of me and Daisy. I told her how much we enjoy the conga lesson at her Dance Studio. Minnie and me.

Friday evening we had dinner at Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera Resort. I think this was my first time here in over 6 years, and the food was just as good as I remembered.

Friday also brought us to the Grand Floridian for tea! We had a Marvelous time in the Garden View Tea Room. The refreshed space is lovely, the former servers are back, and the new Menu is terrific.
A selection of tea from Twinings at the Garden View Tea Room. The aromas sold us. A selection of cheeses with crostini, as well as scones, clotted cream, and jam. All went well with our tea. 🫖 An assortment of hors d’ouvres with some Alice in Wonderland themed desserts at the top. The mad hatter hat was matcha and stained my fingers. The renovated lobby at the Grand Floridian, with the Perch bar at center.

Friday brought us back to Magic Kingdom. We took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour (no photos allowed), but got to meet Mickey and get some magic shots in.
A gentleman and his friends meet with Mickey the Magician in his dressing room. I really wish Magic Kingdom had a version of the Mickey and the Adjective Noun show that they have at every other park in the world. Maybe someday. A gentleman and his two friends take their nephews trick or treating at Magic Kingdom. Cinderella Castle is in the background. Confetti! 🎉 A gentleman greets Mickey Mouse backstage at the Town Square theatre in Magic Kingdom.

Thursday night we had dinner at the California Grill, watching “Happily Ever After” from top of the Contemporary. The show always brings me joy.
A view of Cinderella Castle from the top of the Contemporary Hotel. A deconstructed blueberry cheesecake. An amazing crème brûlée. 🍮 A gentleman and his friends dining at the California Grill. I love the food here but the decor could do with a refurbishment. We were thrilled to get a window seat.

Later on Thursday, I got my favorite photo from our whole trip, a magic shot of me playing the banjo with Kermit the Frog. “Rainbow Connection” has such a special meaning for me, always makes me tear up, more so now that Scott is gone. I’m going to have this framed.

Thursday we had “lunch” at Wine Bar George taking a wine tasting class taught by George Miliotes himself! I learned a lot about how to enjoy wine, how different wines are made, and the wineries they come from.
The wines we sampled during our class at Wine Bar George. Three whites and three reds.

Wednesday we switched hotels, and journeyed north to visit my parents in Ocala. But we went to Epcot that evening, and had a Fireworks view from GEO-82. Luminous made me ugly cry. And then After Hours at Epcot was worth it for having Seabase Alpha to Ourselves for the night!

Tuesday evening we had an early dinner at the Brown Derby, followed by more rides at Hollywood Studios, capped by Fantasmic! I didn’t take pics of the show because it’s so much better just to soak it all in. Fortunately not literally this time (last time we got a fine mist all night).
An amazing fish served over a pea and mint risotto! Grapefruit Cake! Not for everyone, and probably shouldn’t eat this since I’m on Lipitor, but hey. Sunset over Black Spire Outpost. The moon rises over Black Spire Outpost.

Tuesday we returned to Animal Kingdom. More rides and the fantastic Lion King show.
Kevin! Simba looking over the theatre in the round at the Lion King Celebration. Tumble Monkeys! This has been my favorite act in this show since first coming here almost thirty years ago. And this is my second favorite act. I mean this guy is basically on fire! 🔥

Dinner Monday brought us to Sanaa at Kidani Village. I had never been here before, and while it’s not the same level of dining as Jiko, it is a true gem.
The highly touted Sanaa bread service. Five kinds of naan and 9 spreads, all of which were delicious. Worth coming here for. Pork tenderloinSeasonal fishButter chicken and Chickpea Wat

More from the Wild Africa Trek. Our guides Alex and Susan were amazing, and took great photos.
A picture of me crossing a janky looking rope bridge over the crocodile river at Animal
Kimgdom. I am afraid of heights, but harnessed in as we were this was safer than crossing the street at home. This is the most caked up my ass has ever looked. Clearly I need to wear a harness more often. ;)Another photo of me sporting a Pandora tshirt overlooking the Savannah. That is a cooling towel around my neck. It was hot and humid this day. Our wonderful guides Alex and Susan, holding a sign which says Asante Sana.

Monday at Animal Kingdom I did what Is perhaps one of the best things you can do at Walt Disney World, the Wild Africa Trek. I learned so much, and we had a great time with our guides.
The entrance to the Wild Africa Trek: The Ultimate Animal Adventure. Located at the entrance of Kilimanjaro Safaris. My fiends and I on the overlook above the Hippo pool. See the smiling hippopotamus in the lower right. On the Boma overlooking the Savannah on the Wild Africa Trek. The flamingo pond and elephant enclosure are in the background along with a Kilimanjaro Safari truck. The tiffins filled with lunch items including Tandoori shrimp, a chicken salad wrap, a fruit salad, hummus, olives, pita, prosciutto and mozzarella.

Sunday night was Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Started the evening at the Beak and Barrel and with a ride on Pirates. Got our fill of candy, enjoyed seeing all the guests In creative costumes. My favorite time of year at Magic Kingdom.
Told my friends where the camera was this time. Could you go to the Halloween Party and not ride Haunted Mansion? I mean you could, but why bother. The fireworks were going off while we were riding Mine Train, and it was amazing. Best view of the fireworks is from Fantasyland. My friends and I in front of Big Thunder Mountain. We were going to try and get a picture with Jack and Sally, but the line was long all night and we had more fun riding rides.

Next morning, Sunday at Epcot! First and likely only time at the Food and Wine Festival this season. Didn’t get a picture of the Gyozas, but run don’t walk to that booth! Delicious!
A gentleman stands in front of Spaceship Earth and the front flowerbed advertising the 30th anniversary of the Food and Wine Festival, started in 2026. If you don’t count the 2020 Taste of Epcot, which sort of combined Food and Wine with Flower and Garden, it’s also the 30th festival. I was getting a picture of my friends in front of Wonders of Xander, with the monorail overhead, and got photobombed by Star Lord. Didn’t even see him until I had finished taking photos. He of course thought I was taking a picture of him. One of these people knows where the camera is. He’s in the driver’s seat. Did you even go to Epcot is you didn’t ride Living with the Land?

First night we went to After Hours at Hollywood Studios. This is a great ticketed event. Short lines, free snacks.
The Rock’n’Roller Coaster Marquee guitar, repainted for the Electric Mayhem overlay. Looks great lit up at night. The Carthay Circle theatre on Sunset Boulevard. A gentleman stands in front of the Animation building in the newly refurbished Animation Courtyard. An amazing reimagining of this space, once a vast concrete expanse now more an urban park. The Chinese Theatre, centerpiece of Hollywood Studios.

The pool deck at Jambo House was evacuated secondary to a thunderstorm. But the lizards and ducks took advantage.
A lizard lounges on a pool lounger. Side note, these loungers absorb an extraordinary amount of water when it rains. I put multiple layers of towels down on the cushions, and still soaked my pants when I sat down. Another lizard lounging on a lounger. Standing on the MCO carpet after a full week at Disney World, my longest trip there in 3 years. More pics to come later, when I have a stable WiFi connection. Farewell, Orlando.
A gentleman stands on the MCO carpet after a week at Disney World. He is wearing New Balance sneakers and Bombas socks. A hint of Dockers shorts is showing, otherwise his hirsute legs are bare. A scar is barely visible on the inner side of the right knee, a remnant of a surgery from his teenage years.

I am from Georgia as is most of my family, so this makes sense!
A map of the united states shaded to match my dialect. The Southeast is brightest red, and the Dakotas and Upper New England are brightest blue. Red indicates where people talk with the same dialect as yourself, and blue they don't.

My first experiment with Tim Curry was watching the movie version of Clue, with him starting as Wadsworth the Butler. A master of physical comedy. 🎭 Also, humanity collectively needs to have a serious discussion with the universe about which 80 year old “celebrity” needs to be next. I have ideas.

I have so many good and wholesome memories around and about Dolly Parton. Singing “9 to 5” in a recording booth with my sister at Opryland. Watching her on TV and in movies. Hanging out at Dollywood on a summer afternoon with friends. Signing babies up for the Imagination Library. So much joy. 🦋 🌈

I’m all for noise ordinances around airports (looking at you MEM), but if there’s a rule that says you cannot take off until 7am, why schedule boarding at 6:15 and push back from the gate at 6:45? All of us could have used an extra 15 minutes of sleep.
A gentleman frustrated by SNA noise ordinance rules just wants to get off the ground and fly to DEN. His headphones are canceling the noise of the idling jet engines. He’s wearing a loud jungle print shirt with blue tigers because why not.

What was surprising is that they talked about Space Mountain in Tokyo and Paris, and talked about Disneyland’s Space Mountain and Tomorrowland, but DID NOT discuss Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain. Is it just going to rattle itself apart? Wonder if they held off for some reason.
