Looking through old clipart CDs and learned about Gabriele Berndt, an amazing artist I've never heard of before de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabriel...

$Painting of a glowing nebula reflected or maybe masked in a dark sea. Waves wash onto the sand in the shape of a fractal set. Two white shells levitate above the ground in the lower left.$ Very new-age painting of a collection of standing stones foregrounded by crop circles pressed into a field of grain. Through the circles we can see a cloudy evening sky, upside-down.

Michel Whelan-esque painting of an ancient stone arch framing a large, pale moon in a gray sky. Around the arch we can see a different scene, with pink and purple nebulae glowing among stars

Black-and-white painting (or maybe photomontage?) of some interestingly-curved stone formations along a placid shore. On the horizon, behind a band of dark clouds, a swirled planet and moon hang in the sky, reminiscent of Bejeweled or Roger Dean

I'm joining the war on slop with cheap, fast flyer commissions. If you know someone who is asking the computer for event posters, tell them to ask me instead. Get the guarantee!

A poster mocked up as if it was offset printed in black and red roughly 60 years ago. The header reads "AVAILABLE NOW! FLYERS DESIGNED BY A HUMAN BEING!" and the subsequent text is pitching $50 flyer designs with a "SLOP-FREE GUARANTEE," incorporating some vintage Henry Volk clipart of people looking at a poster and saying how well it reflects on the event organizer.

I'm not eating "Nature's Path Heritage Flakes." This is a made-up cereal from that Mike Judge cartoon about environmentalists. White dreadlocks coded cereal

A box of cereal at the store called "Natrure's Path Organic Heritage Flakes." They look pretty bad also

Haven't been able to quit thinking about "Woman Simulator Simulator"

A ten-dollar slop game on the Nintendo Switch store called "Anime Waifu Simulator." An AI-generated cartoon woman with brown hair and a cat-ears headband smiles noncommittally at the viewer

Okay but you guys better actually want 'em

Cover of an upcoming zine titled "The American Traffic Cone as Photographic Subject and Environmental Object: Observations, Theory and Examples." The title is intentionally much too long so it can be set on a path in the shape of a traffic cone, in orange Futura Bold.

Good photos I found at the bulk art-supply place

Blue-tinted flash photo of an 80s-looking bathroom sink at night. A can of shaving cream has exploded or been sprayed around the room; globs of foam cover the sink, faucet and sink items and the mirror is flecked with white spots like stars

Vertical still life of two glasses of wine (one red, one white, both with a couple of ice cubes), an apple and an orange on a white backdrop

Photo of three small kids huddled together as if plotting something in the narrow front yard of a suburban home; the angle and distance suggest a view from an upstairs window across the street

Flash photo of an ugly 90s-style kitchen with white appliances, a stainless half-sink, and an adhesive vinyl backsplash

The bulk photos bin at the secondhand craft store includes a scattering of facebook images someone's grandpa printed out

Glossy print of a HDR-blowout photo of a red pickup driving through a snowy mountain pass. In the upper corner in unadorned black text it says "Real Truck"

Glossy print of a drawing of the Simpson family looking at a brown couch with a Bitmoji of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory sitting on the right. The background is a neon green cloud texture. Yellow text above the cartoons reads "Big Bang! Simpson's Theory"

Off-center print of some artwork of praying hands clasping a motorcycle chain like a rosary, flanked by two pistons. Blue text above and yellow below reads "GOD RIDE'S A HARLEY"

It's because he's funny and can cook, okay

Cover of an old Vampirella comic book featuring a painting of a Frazetta-style babe with huge hair standing protectively in front of a gnarled green gremlin guy who is waving sheepishly at the viewer. "WHY WAS THIS BEAUTY FORCED TO BE WITH THIS HIDEOUS MONSTER? ...See why on Page 49"

Is it okay to cold-email a business with a merch idea

Mockup of a beige T-shirt with the large, slab-serif text "GREAT RINDS STINK ALIKE" above a cartoon of a smelly wheel of cheese. In smaller text under that it says "GRANDPA'S CHEESEBARN" and the towns in Ohio where Grandpa's CheeseBarn has its three locations
