New paper!🌏🪶🧪 We once again combine the powers of land use data with citizen science observations, finding that informal green spaces (IGS) may be providing resources for some bird functional groups that could be missing from traditional #urban green spaces. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Relative probability of observing a bird species from each foraging guild, comparing between land types. The figure from this paper shows the relative importance of informal green space (IGS) for frugivore, granivore, nectarivore, and omnivore bird species compared to formal green spaces in Melbourne, Australia. The IGS seem particularly important for granivores and frugivores.
