I think people underestimate how much moores law contributed to world economy growth. Now that gate sizes are stagnant AND a lot of compute/storage is bought by companies on bets, it is dragging the economy down noticably. Fucking hate all of this.

I cant be sure, but thats what the previous person meant with "doesnt matter". Even if we found out, nothing substantially in how we treat AI would change. It would necrssitate changing many more habits. People are too lazy for that. Unfortunately for farm animals and maybe future conscious AI.

Eating meat is banned virtually nowhere on the planet, while farm animals are very obviously conscious. They are bred to be killed and eaten. People largely dont care and dont see it as immoral behaviour. People in general would not see it as immoral to shut them down without their consent.

What irks me is that there are no consequences to abusing the system. IMHO the entity not filing a suit admits wrongdoing. This needs to be disincentivized. 8deally they should be banned, increasingly longer subsequentially, from using the system. They can ALWAYS use the legal system directly.
