What a hell of a series Alan Moore did with Courtyard, this, and Providence. I gotta read more Lovecraft. And thanks to @jacen-art.bsky.social for giving us all the awesome art for it all, he works GREAT here.

Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man movie has NOTHING to do with the excellent Ice Cream Man comics. Wouldn't want anyone going to see it under that assumption, like I considered doing before looking it up. Also, I hear it is fucking terrible.

"The Ribbon Queen" by Garth Ennis @jacen-art.bsky.social Guillermo Ortega & Dan Brown is a story I read and re-read both as an e-book and now in print. I recommended it to a friend of mine. She liked it too. So, yeah, very good book!

Cover of "The Ribbon Queen" depicting a woman holding a gun. Behind her looms a spectre made from strips of flesh.

A double page from "The Ribbon Queen": The main character, detective Sun finds that another police officer has broken into her appartement. He warns her to stop investigating the death of a young woman, reminding her she was apparently part of a police shooting.

A double page from "The Ribbon Queen": The police officer from before is being torn to strips of flesh in front of Sun and his family.

Ok, Stallone and Schwarzenegger were the big dogs, but for my money, Kurt Russell was the best action star of the 80's.

Once, long ago, I was at one of my first comicons and I spotted someone who was a comicbook creator I idolized. I walked up to his table, portfolio in hand, and introduced myself as someone who wanted to draw comics in the future and a big fan of **redacted 80's comic**.
