You know that annoying experience on mobile websites where you need to find the little close button and can't swipe a menu closed? The solution is simpler than you think. With basic CSS scroll APIs, you can get built-in interruptible swipe gestures 🥳

That’s exactly why the Lean approach —and the continuous elimination of waste— is so critical. Now that AI dramatically accelerates how fast we can build, the risk of dying from complexity grows exponentially.

Talked with the Claude Code team on how they build Claude Code. It feels I get a peek into the future, and I get why Dario said 6 months ago that 90% of code will be written by AI. This team works SO differently than any eng team I saw. Will share in-depth soon. One example:

Tomorrow at the workshop that I co-facilitate about #TeamTopologies and #TeamCognitiveLoad I will present the next exercise. Take some time to read it, and tell me if you feel identified with the problem. Tomorrow I share my insights when I faced a similar situation.
Exercise 2. With a Team Topologies diagram sharing 3 stream-aligned teams and one platform team. All 3 stream-aligned teams consuming from a platform team.

And the next text next to it:
Team cognitive load assessment result
We are able to identify a common challenge among teams.
Team complexity - With respect to cognitive load, the larger and more complex the team, the more stakeholders, the more transactive activities will be needed to coordinate members actions and the more communication is needed within the team increasing cognitive load.
Contextual complexity - Too much contextual complexity - e.g. changing requirements, external circumstances, interruptions -tends to result in many unexpected situations during project execution. It is known to be linked to project team conflict and confusion as well as low project performance.
Role load - Role overload is associated with various aspects of psychological strain, such as increased job stress, anxiety and a feeling of being mentally overwhelmed - all of which are linked to high levels of cognitive load.
Exercise 2.
Next text: We have invested on the proper platform team. We have seen some improvements on team performance, but we still don’t hit our business goals.

Followed of a team topologies image where it shares that there is the management team early on the flow of change that does a handover into stream aligned teams.

At the bottom of the image, there is the next text:
Management team cognitive load assessment result
Role load - Role overload is associated with various aspects of psychological strain, such as increased job stress, anxiety and a feeling of being mentally overwhelmed - all of which are linked to high levels of cognitive load.

Tip: Chrome DevTools now lets you annotate and share performance findings! What's new? ✍️ Label, connect events, and highlight time ranges right on the trace. 🤝 Save, share, and upload annotated traces to the Performance panel. 💨 Streamlined workflow: Dedicated space for note-taking and analysis.
The Performance panel gets the new Annotations tab in an expandable sidebar on the left that streamlines the process of creating notes for trace exploration and collaboration when sharing performance findings.

You can now label and connect events with arrows and highlight time ranges right on the trace. You can then save, share, and upload annotated traces back into the Performance panel.
