Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 06/03/2025Here in my city of Raleigh, NC, local government has acquired funding for BRT - but they've struggled with finding a vendor to build the project within a specified budget. What would you recommend to rectify this? 000

Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 04/03/2025It's amazing how the same people who preach "family values" are silent about that. They are also silent about a woman who has made millions off grown men engaging in staged violence & demeaning other women. These folks are anti-family values. 220
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 27/02/2025If your father is into Jazz, he'll likely know the name Barry Harris. He was a Jazz piano player from Detriot. Ron Carter, a bassist, is another prominent musician but he's technically from Ferndale. 010

Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 16/02/2025Here in NC, despite the disappointment (understatement) at the presidential level, we did well at the state level. We've had success in other swing states over the past few years. It's fine to have some DC consultants, but we also need to listen to those with experience speaking to swing voters. 010
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 16/02/2025To be clear, we should always be honest with people. If the topic comes up organically, that's one thing. But our main focus in terms of the overall points we articulate should be bread & butter issues in my view. 110
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 16/02/2025I agree. This space should be a place where we can discuss things with like-minded people. It's fine to discuss these things with friends and family. My point is, when we communicate with swing voters through door-to-door, calls, and the like, we should focus on other issues. 110
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 16/02/20252/2 they are fine costing us $4 trillion over the next decade to keep the '17 tax scheme permanent. I'm all for deficit reduction; Presidents Bush 41, Clinton, and Obama all reduced the deficit without cutting NIH funding. Trump increased the deficit before, I think he'll do so again. 020
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 16/02/20251/2 While the name change is childish and a bad precedent, I think our main focus should be on other matters that are more pressing. For example, the administration wants to cut funding for medical research. This will hurt clinical trials & other crucial research. NIH gets under $50B/yr, yet... 210
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 11/02/2025I agree, and I think there is a lot of misreading of the electorate occurring right now. It feels like 2005 to me, but like you said it's difficult to tell. 000
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 09/02/2025Here at home, consider 2004. 43 won a majority of the vote and all of the swing states. In 2005, did anyone really believe the Democrats would win in 2008 while carrying Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, and Colorado? Doubtful. Much in politics occurs in cycles. 100
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 09/02/2025I think the Fed Reserve system could be the model for the federal bureaucracy. While the chair is appointed every 4 years, Fed Governors get 14-year appointments - this takes present politics out of the equation without a lifetime appointment like courts. They recently defied Trump's wishes. 010

Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 03/02/2025I do remember about 10 yrs ago I went to a Morris Co. Chamber of Commerce event and Sweeney was on a panel. He joked that by his house, the Turnpike only has 4 lanes. 110
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 03/02/2025The one thing that could help Sweeney in the primary is he's the only candidate from south Jersey. I do agree he'd be strong in a general. He'd definitely beat Spaedea though I think all of them would. 200
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 03/02/2025Gottheimer sounds like it's the general election already. Baraka will be the choice of progressives. I think Sherrill is the most likely nominee & I agree with you about how she's doing, but there doesn't seem to be anything to change that. 100
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 03/02/2025I tuned in and saw your username in the comments. I can't tell who's winning the debate. 200
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 01/02/2025I agree. As you know, sometimes people have short memories. In this digital age, I think that's become even more true. At one time, people might watch an hour of news a night and read a paper some days. Now, we are all on our phones getting information constantly. It makes '21 seem distant. 000
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 31/01/2025It's also worth noting that Trump won 49.8% of the vote. So essentially, everyone who voted for him approves of his performance thus far. That 54% number for Biden was interesting because he only won 51% of the vote. 100
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 22/01/2025I disagree. Inflation is bad for the economy and, therefore, bad for national security. Part of our strength as a country comes from our purchasing power. 010
Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 20/01/2025I know you are referring to the legal and ethical issues this causes, and I agree. But there is also an economic issue. How will this support of crypto impact the dollar? It's one thing when speculators pour money into it. Now, the POTUS is for it & benefits from the phenomenon. 170

Jordan @j92.bsky.social · 16/01/2025I agree. Harry Truman was unpopular during his tenure, but now he's viewed as a good (if not great) president. I think Biden has been excellent on policy, and no serious person can question his character. 120
