@jagexjerv.bsky.social Hiya, I know you are not directly involved with the sailing assets but perhaps you or someone on the team will know. I am texturing the salvaging station but I can't figure out what this box is supposed to contain? 😅

Most of the negativity towards OSRS from the RS3 side I have experienced stems from people that had RS3 friends that moved over. Which is valid I guess.

Another argument for token exchange based digital ID. Sending over scans of physical ID cards when the platform only needs to know if you are of a certain age is psychotic.

Looks like the visuals have even regressed a bit since they have removed some textures from the cache (gradients on every floor and the lava creeping up the walls)

000

J3 @j3.gg · 17/09/2025

Those textures aren't even new, brimhaven agility arena has not been touched graphically literally since the launch of HD in 2008

it has been a lot of fun getting into the technical side of the client and helping out in shipping this update! More plugins to come!

Yep. one of the many changes EOC introduced!

I will cheat and assume I did not quit RS3 and take an air rune because at least it will let me cast every offensive air spell.

Prime example of someone hateful thinking they have the moral high ground

010

J3 @j3.gg · 11/06/2025

Even without the articles being written as an outsider looking in it felt blatant. For the past years Jagex seemed to be on an upward trajectory in it's pride month celebrations and general endorsement of pride. Seeing radio silence after a seemingly bigger than ever scope event in 2024 was jarring.

J3 @j3.gg · 05/06/2025

Hey this won't be over any time soon!

People that carry hate on grounds of identity seemingly always find exceptions to the hate. Especially when they are confronted with the facts in hindsight.

Is that churu… chicken flavored?

A black and white cat with a pink polka-dot bow sits upright on the floor, looking intently forward with its tiny tongue slightly sticking out, as if asking, “Is that churu… chicken flavored?”

Oh I did not mean to imply that the decision was made on the results of a single survey. It was really quite obvious to anyone following the project closely however that they were struggling to find solid financial grounds without having all of the big feature requests like world editing added in.

000

J3 @j3.gg · 03/06/2025

This feels like a decision that was made very recently. After runefest they ran another survey that asked questions along the lines of how much people would be willing to pay for hosting costs etc. My guess is that they just weren't convinced they could make this profitable on initial release.

I think YouTube just kind of encourages that because shortform content became scrollable portrait mode videos for the brainrot app.

Has there been any news on FSR4 support for Linux broadly as of recent?

020

J3 @j3.gg · 19/05/2025

The results in Romania are heartening. Poland's first round exit polls are worryingly close to a PiS victory though, and portugal's support for their left bloc is waivering :(

The mfer that bought the name "J3" after it got sniped off me in an attempt to transfer it to my OSRS character just got the name sniped off him again. I shouldn't feel good about it but I do.

Watching some in the FOSS community gatekeeping Linux after PewDiePie gave it major exposure is making me cringe. Especially over him being involuntarily turned into a 4chan mascot over a decade ago. He’s since been openly progressive and clear about his views.
