Most leadership problems don’t start as behaviour problems, they start as unexamined thinking problems. I wrote about metacognition, the pause where you notice what your mind is doing before you let it drive. Fast certainty isn’t the same as good judgement. jwozza.substack.com/p/before-you...

Imposter syndrome can be a sign you’re taking risks, doing meaningful work and stretching the edge of your ability. It can also be the system sending signals that you don’t belong. The distinction matters. I wrote about this on substack. jwozza.substack.com/publish/post...

The real value of AI isn’t “more output”. The harder part is redesigning the work so AI reduces drag without removing the thinking, judgement, care and client understanding that made the work valuable in the first place. I wrote about this on substack. jwozza.substack.com/p/the-value-...

The value of AI is not in the output
Why the real value of AI is not in producing more, but in redesigning the work so human judgement, expertise and care are not accidentally stripped out of the process.

We often talk about burnout as if it’s mostly about workload. But unclear work can be just as draining. When people don’t know what good looks like, what matters most, or whether their effort is making any difference, they burn energy trying to find clarity. jwozza.substack.com/publish/post...

Not all ego says, “look at me.” sometimes it says, “let me add value.” I’ve been thinking about the unselfish ego, the kind that wants to matter by being useful. Maybe some egos don’t need to be made smaller. Maybe they need somewhere generous to go. jwozza.substack.com/p/the-unself...

The Unselfish Ego
Not all ego wants applause. Some ego wants to be useful.

“Have you asked AI?” sounds curious. But in too many workplaces, it’s becoming a way to dismiss human judgement. AI can help us do better work. But in the hands of poor leaders, it can also create more noise, more burnout and more polished rubbish. Check out my latest substack piece on this.

The AI-Obsessed Boss Isn’t the Future of Work
The biggest risk with AI at work isn’t that people won’t use it. It’s that some leaders will use it badly and call that transformation.

The best leader you ever had didn't just impress the CEO. They made you better at your job. We keep promoting confidence over humility and wondering why the team falls apart. The truth is the best leaders exhibit both. Wrote about this on Substack: open.substack.com/pub/jwozza/p...

Starting fresh here. I’m interested in the future of work, psychosocial safety, responsible AI, and how organisations can move from managing symptoms to designing better systems. Looking forward to learning, sharing, and unpacking a few of them here.
