It's probably something as frequent, if not more frequent, than finishing a book. I always try to give books a very fair chance, but some things I simply cannot force myself to get through. Maybe the prose is tedious, or the characters annoying, or there are grammatical errors that are maybe artistically intended but just come off as sloppy.
