I joke now, but I am bracing for the coming retribution wave of hate crimes against people (including myself) who were neither there nor relevant to the shooting. You can only plan everything up until the moment the trigger is pulled. You cannot plan for anything that happens after.

Oh god yeah. I saw the faraway video first, and when I saw him go down like a sack of potatoes, I knew it was over for him. Each new closer angle was just more of a confirmation. But oh god the SOUND on that closest angle.

I was at work down the street from the campus where it happened. My coworkers all got an active shooter alert, then it was revised to a single shot. And oh my god they had the video within MINUTES. We all knew he was dead hours before the media reported it.

I work somewhat down the street from the campus where Charlie Kirk was shot. Everyone I work with had videos within MINUTES of it happening. I could have told you he was dead before it was even reported.
