when i initially shared this gift idea with my boyfriend, he said, "if he's 10 years old, he's going to probably answer all legendaries. like giratina or something." i laughed at the time because i knew my cousin liked plenty of regular pokemon too. but i suppose i am the fool here.

my 10-year-old cousin's birthday is coming up. i thought drawing him as a pokemon trainer with his ideal team would be a fun gift. when i asked him what his team would be, his immediate answer was "probably all legendaries. like giratina." i don't know why i expected him to say anything else.

it's helpful to write on pen/paper too... if i write on PC, it'll take me all day to get 1k words down since i always get hung up on little details... meanwhile on pen/paper i can just let words and ideas flow out effortlessly without consideration for mistakes. drafts are meant to be rough!

i've been dabbling in traditional art more as of late to curb my perfectionism + build line confidence. i've found it really relaxing to make """bad""" art... plus using cheap art supplies (i've been drawing on printer paper!) makes everything all the less intimidating.
