characters can and should be wrong. they can and should be unreliable narrators i don't just mean misunderstanding tropes, either, where things are weird for a bit and then resolved and they know everything. characters can and should have biased and what could be termed as "incorrect" perceptions

Arkos, Arum and Aidoneus were all characters that expanded way past their original ideas. Arkos was a one-off alien, now human & the MC for Veinguard Arum Aidoneus, previously Drirosis who’s character was just Amalthea’s hub Arum is practically the reason I’m making this story in the first place.

More FungalSnail: Arum will repeat phrases Soh’vhet says with 0 knowledge of what they actually mean. One of the things Soh says is “ArU’ha-Na” Which means “My star/home” since its after the name of their sun “Gahha-Na” & Soh refuses to teach Arum his language, so they just go off of context clues

Depends on the story you’re writing/wanting to achieve. For me it is, because those traits play into how they are treated and how they act. Will say with Amalthea in Martyr’s Rose she is literally a “Monsterfucker.” So that plays heavy into her being into Aidoneus- who is a Sprout.

Arkos’ is rather high. Amalthea’s fluctuates between HIGH and barren. Aidoneus’ is average until a certain season, mainly due to his host/“parent”. Arum’s is 0 to 1100% the second they are touched.
