Views renders fields in order, and a field can only use tokens from fields above it. That's why your Link to content token isn't in the replacement patterns list. Rearrange the fields so it sits above the one using it, then exclude it from display. #drupal #views

You don't need a Twig template to change the HTML around a Views field. Click the field, open Style settings, then Customize field HTML. Wrap the title in an H3, make the label a strong tag, add your own classes. #drupal #views

The content variable is a custom variable the theme passes through to a Twig template. Use the without filter to drop an array key you don't want rendered. To add your own, append a render array to content in a preprocessor. #drupal #twig

The Twig "extends" tag lets you override part of a template. Wrap part of your markup in a block, then extend the template and redefine just that block. Everything else stays as it was. Call "parent" inside the block to keep the original markup and add to it. #drupal #twig

Adding an image field to a view in Drupal CMS goes through three layers. View mode, which points to a responsive image style, which points to image styles. Rendered entity gives a picture element with breakpoints. A plain image style gives one img tag. #drupal #views

The dump function shows you which variable or array holds a field value in Twig. Turn on Twig debugging first, otherwise dump isn't available. Put dump in your template and it prints the variable onto the page so you can see the structure. #drupal #twig

Twig Xdebug lets you drop a breakpoint into a Twig template and see every variable available to it. You still need Xdebug running locally. I usually skip it and breakpoint the preprocessor instead. Same data, and you can step through the PHP. #drupal #twig

Twig replaced PHPTemplate as Drupal's templating engine in Drupal 8. It's a Symfony component and it escapes output by default, so printing HTML means reaching for the raw filter. outputs a variable, {% if %} wraps logic, {# note #} comments. #drupal #twig

If the Insert Media button is missing from CKEditor, it's a text format setting. Go to Configuration, Text formats and editors, and configure the right format. Add the Drupal Media button to the toolbar and enable the Embed media filter. You need both. #drupal #ckeditor

To embed an image in Drupal, use the Insert Media button in CKEditor. Pick from the library or upload, then insert. Select the embed and you get view modes to change how it displays. Under the hood it's a drupal-media element with the UUID, not an img tag. #drupal #ckeditor

In Drupal, you can give each media item its own page. Go to Configuration, Media, Media settings, and turn on standalone media URLs. Every media entity then gets a canonical URL like /media/1. Just know those pages can get indexed by Google. #drupal #media
