Lovely session with my primary trainee teachers this morning, linking educational theorists to their practice and helping them to explore (and critique) curriculum structures in their schools. It is inspiring to see them growing into critically reflective and reflexive teachers.

In the secondary phase, how do you develop the understanding of the form tutor role in the trainee teacher? Are they carefully matched to be a co-tutor with an experienced form tutor? Should the co-tutor be in a different subject area? What are your thoughts? #ITT #professionallearning

With trainee teachers returning to placement next week, how are you going to be welcoming them back? Have they experienced the start of term PD day before? Who is going to be taking them under their wing? If you are mentoring a new trainee, how are you going to help them to settle in? #ITT

Well, Saturday brings some time to do some more work on my Doctorate. Today brings some analysis of preliminary work on factors that enable and impact on personal capacity to mentor the way lead mentors want to. Also exploring the support mechanisms around lead mentors.
