Before Ruby’s soul was trapped in a ventriloquist dummy, she was definitely a Cookie Monster pyjama pants girl. Maybe there was a pipeline that lead her to become a carny. #Ventriloquistdummy #OCart #originalcharacter

Had Silverchair on the brain so here’s more Ruby with her fave song, Freak. (Fun fact, her outfit is actually a direct nod to Chucky who is considered the unofficial mascot of Big Day Out when he made his debut in 2003) #ocart #ventriloquistdummy #circus #freakshow

New OC just dropped, introducing the newest star of your local carnival. The audacious Miss Ruby Renetti. I wanted to try and get a good feel for what her palette and proportions are as well as her personality in general, bonus points if you can guess what her main design influences are! #OCart

Multiple drawings of a ventriloquist dummy with pink makeup, a short brown flip hairdo, pink bows, a purple coat with a matching skirt with decorative gold trim, striped socks, spats and pink and gold shoes and a blue rosette pocket watch. One outfit is a variation with a blue waistcoat, red and white skirt with a gold trim, striped socks and spats, red and gold shoes, and a straw hat with a red bow. The drawing on the bottom right is of her flipping the bird while holding a bunch of balloons and floating in the air while saying “SHOVE IT, SLICK!!” And next to that is her in a purple dress with gold trim and pink bows in more natural looking makeup. There’s multiple bits of text around the piece such as its title “Ruby Renetti Character Study.” And in bright pink it marks out her palette on the top left side, next to it is a drawing of her and the pink text is pointing out that her cane is used to whack suckers, oh that red button she’s holding? Don’t worry about it. On the top in the middle is a study for spooky lighting. And next to it is her being a certified yapaholic.

The highlight of my Halloween this year!

Finally showing off my costume for Halloween this year, a genderbent version of Rudy from Funhouse! The coolest thing I incorporated into the costume was a bag with actual working clock parts.

A costume inspired by Rudy from the hit pinball game from 1990, Funhouse by Williams. It includes a blue jacket and skirt, red bow tie, a yellow medal, pocket watch and a purse that acts as Rudy’s iconic giant clock.

A closeup of the makeup for the Halloween costume. Painted on brows and Rudy’s iconic red nose and cheeks.

A meme featuring another shot of the makeup test, this one includes the caption that reads “No hotdogs, biff?”

The promotional poster for the funhouse pinball table. Which includes the iconic dummy and main mechanism of the game, Rudy on the right.

Had the late great festival Big Day Out on the brain while I was chatting with a mate about festival posters. Oh what I’d give to experience BDO one more time 😔. #bigdayout #art

A loving tribute to the late Aussie music festival, Big Day Out. The artwork depicts characters from the various posters from some of the years. The shooting range target from ‘96 holding the brightly dressed ventriloquist dummy from ‘03 and also on each side the weird looking pink and blue fellas from ‘94. The background is a sunset and a circus tent, the text reads “Big Days Gone By, Big Day Out, 1992-2014.” Vale, BDO!

Multiple drawing of a girl with black space buns and dark clothing accented by glowing multicoloured suspender straps running down her legs and on her boots, there are also drawing of her weapon, the Eye of Silico. A pendulum that transforms into a multitude of different weapons such as a Sword, an Axe, a Trident and a Scythe. The writing on the top near the middle also says that. On the top left the text reads

Occupation:

A drawing I recently did of what my sona looked like back in 2014, I may have been a miserable and edgy little 15 year old riddled with acne and crippling anxiety but damn I knew how to cook up a character design. #OCart

A girl with black hair in space buns with bows that have eyeballs in the middle of them is standing with a magical eyeball scythe in one hand, she’s wearing a black leather bomber jacket with an eyeball keychain, black shorts with colourful accents that run down her legs, the motif continues with her boots and the soles are colourful. She is standing in front of a dark purple background with a colourful halo and subtle eyeball motifs around her.
