2/2 The autoguider locks onto a star as reference point and sends correctional commands to the mount to cancel out its tracking error, allowing longer exposure times. The quality of the guiding profile is shown in the graph for the RA and DEC axis. Its just a rough summary, hope this makes sense^^

Piper @itspiper.bsky.social · 09/01/2025
1/2 In short, the autoguider consists of the guiding camera, the guiding scope (the smaller one on the main telescope) and the software. Before imaging you have to polar align the mount but it has a certain tracking error depending on the quality of the polar alignment.

Thanks^^ The first picture shows the final result of the Nebula with all subframes stacked and edited. The second picture shows the autoguider (left) and the software for the imaging camera (right). The last picture just shows the telescope covered in ice because i thought it looked neat^^

I finally was able bring out the newtonian again and decided to go for M1. Unfortunately a lot of the lightframes went bad because for some reason the autoguider started drifting off but I tried to make the most of it. Have to check out the guider later^^' Hope you like the result^^

Piper @itspiper.bsky.social · 09/12/2024
Nice one, do the ultra rare ones show up at random or are there certain places where to get them?^^'

Thanks, its easier to capture when the iss is illuminated but for this transit you needed the exact time to get it. I managed to capture five frames and this one was the best out of those^^

I did a thing last night^^ I just randomly checked for potential lunar transits and it turned out that there would happen one not far away. So I packed up my stuff and gave it a shot. Hope you like the result^^ Setup: Skywatcher 254/1200 Eq-6pro Canon Eos 90D

Well, if thats the case I would say cardboard it is then^^
010
Piper @itspiper.bsky.social · 27/09/2023
Glad I could help^^ Maybe there is even a cap for that on the cover of the telescope. If not, the cardboard should probably do the trick
110
Piper @itspiper.bsky.social · 27/09/2023
On the other hand you can use either a Filter or you can put a piece of cardboard with a circle cutout on the front of it so less light comes through. Hope that helps^^

Piper @itspiper.bsky.social · 27/09/2023
There are a few things you can do. On one hand you could use a barlow lens. That doubles or multiplies the focal length of your telescope, increasing the focal ratio, making Jupiter for example darker. But with that come a few more things that have to be accounted for.
110
Piper @itspiper.bsky.social · 26/09/2023
Nice, with its 910mm focal length you may be even too close already, depending on the eyepiece or camera sensor. But if you wanna watch Andromeda or any Galaxy it is mostly just visible as a fuzzy dot because of its bright center. The picture consists of multiple pictures that are stacked and edited
