And no one loves a binary more than Gwen these days!

If you mention the VMAs, to me in person be prepared for me to pinpoint the moment when it all went wrong for the event. Even before allowing people to vote (never a good idea outside of Kelly Clarkson), they sold out and awarded Lady Marmalade (fine) Video of the Year over Weapon of Choice (art)

It's hard to believe, but there were halcyon, pre-9/11 days when the VMAs honored artistry in music videos like this. It really MEANT something!

This feels like a better place to direct your anger than at one of America's approximately 35 remaining lesbian bars.

1101

Exactly. That OUR toxic gender expansive lesbian artist not YOUR reason to take away queer rights. Now, not only can I not joke, but I have to be a self-righteous activist too.

040

Like, you only get to lecture us about this, or, more importantly, joke about it if you can name 3-5 COVID-conscious lesbians in your life.

080

That would be the *very unlikely* dream!

Really wish we could have handled this as a community before straight people got involved.

Phillies nab last Wild Card playoff spot in game 162.

Makes me want to bite my pillow.

Finding out this guy buys all the pantsuits for his wife Bonnie is the most interesting Traitors reveal in all the American seasons.

She’s me trying to figure out the bottom’s rising sign.

Watched Hitchcock’s Rope today for the first time, and it’s pretty much the first ever Traitors episode.

I am america's gay profile in courage as I resist the temptation to watch Bake Off because I promised I would wait.

It's been a WEEK, so with husband not home from work travel yet, I stayed in, ordered sushi, popped an ed*ble, and will stare straight ahead at unchallenging things for a while.

The biggest indication yet that they know they’re losing. The 2028 Dem nominee must be open to reforming and expanding the court.

Imagining what The Other Two could have done with the COVID-conscious lesbian bar.

Once again, let me live my life for one day being so blissfully ignorant to all that is happening around me that I am considered to participate in a New York Times focus group.

1141

Oh for sure. Like all Murphy projects, you have to wonder if it was ultimately worth it. But I'd grudgingly say that Glee was a cringe-inducing net positive.

000

Disagree! It was very cheesy and mostly stupid, but I know so many people younger than I am who cite it as a legitimately helpful touchpoint with how they represented so many kinds of queer people on a show they were actually allowed to watch.

120

No, we do not need a Glee reboot (Gleeboot?), a very clear signal of end times. Yes, I will watch every episode of it and complain about it the entire time.

180

At the end of this year, Philly will have 3 (!) lesbian and/or lesbian-owned bars They're very hard to keep sustainable, and I hope we can do it. FWIW, one heartening part of this dreadful discourse is that people don't seem to be picking on the bar as much as admonishing its radical detractors.

082

Just keep making lists and graphics. I will not be restrained by RULES.

000

I'm in a bad anesthesia haze, so here are honorable mentions. I watched a lot of tv this century while you were out having fun.

130

And I couldn't limit it to just one image.

150

I was so mad they wouldn't let me choose Only Connect, but here's the best tv that comes to mind for me.

160

And if I list Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives as one of my best television shows on the 21st century, then what?

1130

It’s that time. After a routine colonoscopy, trying to innovate a way to eat and sleep at the same time.

Seeing that so many right wing losers are sharing the woke lesbian bar article discourse as a way to justify marginalizing queer people, I think of this. It always comes down to this.

0384

You can basically read the whole article by perusing the quote tweets on the other site.

020

I run a nonprofit org supporting queer-owned businesses and and the queer workforce, so you would have to waterboard my opinion of that lesbian bar article out of me.
