Second Design: New Era Based off of Googie Style architecture, first founded here in LA! One of my favourite things about growing up in Southern California was seeing all the remnants of Googie architecture and their cool signs scattered across. I just had to pay homage.

A grainy vision of a Googie Style sign that says "New Era, Shiraz, California 2024"

It's soft with teals and pinks, feeling like an old postcard.

A couple months ago UK-based Wine52 reached out to me to design a couple labels for their California subscription box. I was more than excited to help out. Here's my first design: Freestyle. Based off of one of California's greatest exports: the modern skateboarding scene.

A design with bubble style graffiti that says "Free-Sty-Le" broken up, soft and bubbly just like wine! A skateboard that was just doing a kickflip sits at the bottom with the year 2024.

Fun fact the right has always known cops are shooting at Americans. They simply don't care. Stokely Carmichael said it best ever so long ago and ppl really seem to forget.

An image of a young Stokely Carmicheal saying "In order for the non-violence to work, your opponent must have a conscience. The United States has none, has none."

Gonna share this useful graphic I saw from OCCRN. Don't just say "I saw Ice" Say "I saw 3 ICE vehicles harassing people at the Home Depot on Made Up Scenario, they were in these facist outfits. This was as SPECIFIC TIME AND DATE."

Spread Information, Not Panic.
When reporting or posting potential threads: provide as much information as Possible!

REMEMBER! S.A.L.U.T.E.

Size/Strength: "5 to 6 law enforcement officers."
Actions/Activity: "harassing random people on the street"
Location/Direction: Chicago, West of Millennium Park, on Michigan Ave"
Univform/Clothes: "Dark Blue uniforms that say 'POLICE/ICE' on the back"
Time & Date of Observation: 12:45pm, January 20"
Equipment and Weapons: "They have helmets, vests, and batons"

Not a useful message: "URGENT!!! Potential ICE Raids on the west side!!!!"

"Where? When? What are they doing? How Many? What are they carrying?"

USE YOUR JUDGEMENT! WE KEEP US SAFE!

Various stickers and patches that say things like "acab", "you dont have to be a wizard to cast fireball", "scream at own ass", "defend. Deny. Depose.", "follow your leader" with a oicture of hitler killing himself.

They're most black and white and all leftist in nature.

also this is what a Dickcissel looks like, it's a very real bird and I use the card with the bird emblem.

A picture of a cute small bird with yellow on it's chest. It's name can be used to make a lot of lewd jokes.

a family board from the game Betrayal Legacy, there's a sheild with a flying bird in the middle.

This is why I use duckduckgo, do they have an AI-Assist? Unfortunately yes, but you can toggle it on and off. On demand it's just a button and you literally have to click it to even get to this menu again or even show that blue tinted window in the background.

Here's a little preview, bc i had fun using this free web builder (I was testing it to see if it's something I'd recommend to clients and the answer is probably? For more artsy folks, for a designer like me i feel like framer/cargo/webflow are still top answers)

Hello #PortfolioDay I'm Erica, an award-winning senior graphic designer currently looking for work. I have experience with: branding, websites, art direction, motion graphics, illustration, & lettering. Here's a small preview of my work & experiments. Check out my case studies at guezadilla.me

Design piece that says Protect Our Parks with a buffalo head that has the forest and the rain in their face.

Lettering piece based off graffiti and black lettering that reads "have hope"

Water lettering that says "Be Like Water" over a part of the rest of the quote from Bruce Lee reading:
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. that says "be like water" with the full bruce lee quote "

Sick as hell lettering that's aflame reading "hell yeah"

I support trans rights & trans wrongs. Sometimes a flowery message is right and other times: a Molotov cocktail. Fight and protect the rights of our trans friends, educate yourself, and punch a fascist. 🏳️‍⚧️

A molotov cocktail that has flames burning saying "Support Trans Rights" and the label saying "Fight & Protect"

So other people were drawing their leadersona selves and frankly I'd just have loud ads pokemon with sound based moves. Noise boys of you would.

A drawing of a personified pokemon leader with toxtricity, noivern, kommo-o, obstagoon, and pyroar.

The outfit is based off of toxtricity and noivern with a punky appeal.

Protect Our Parks, nature over profit. (but really land back)

An image that says Protect our parks, it has texture overlayed representing that of rough rock. A buffalo with the rain on it's forehead going down the trees of it's roots.
