Chapter 4's boss was never really nerfed that hard, it really just had bug fixes, and it didn't really affect any challenging attacks. Since launch it had damage scaling and difficulty decreases as you retry.

if a room's weird route differences do not effect the layout and are entirely contained within dialogue or is just an additional cutscene, the weird route manipulator is not needed.

It's actually not in every room, it's not even in every room with weird route differences... that's the weird route manipulator, which is less of a controller and more of a setup object that rearranges rooms to have their weird route differences.

(I was gonna add on saying "well at least a rerelease that makes it so you don't need to find 20 year old hardware" but then I remembered OH YEAH this is an obscure game it's actually expensive second hand, so yea i think the rerelease is worth it, this was the cheapest seller I could find)
