Republicans are comically evil -- and just terrible operators. Their tax bills cuts needed social programs for the poorest Americans, while simultaneously cutting taxes for the wealthiest. These tax cuts increase the national deficit even further. The called party of fiscal responsibility my ass.

Happy to announce that I’ve started a new contract role as Esports Product Manager on 2XKO! The FGC has been going through somewhat of a renaissance of late, but I truly believe that 2XKO has the potential to elevate the fighting games to a whole new level. Let's go 👊 @2xko.riotgames.com

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you. The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

I'm no economist, but if you're upset by the cost of the Switch 2 and Nintendo first party games, it might have something to do with this

I'm simultaneously amazed by the pure magic of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, and probably a pass until the next major Zelda game drops (not Warriors). I have too many games in my backlog, and my Steamdeck plays 4K/60FPS when networked to my PC. Stoked to jump in eventually, but not just yet.

Why did no one tell me Half Life 2 in VR was a sublime gaming experience??? Seriously, might actually supplant Alyx as my favorite VR title.

sigh... posts of my latest YouTube video have been deleted on both r/games and r/gaming i get why reddit has self promo rules but... a) I DO abide by the 1:10 ratio b) 50+ hours of work went into this c) there isn't that much new content on these subreddits anyway frustrating

Sweet mother of god, I'm FINALLY done with the initial timeline for the movement shooter video 😭 This one was absolutely exhausting, but we're soooo close to ready to publish. Just need to do a quality check and create some thumbnails and we'll be good to go. Inshallah.

Feels like young democratic politicians are showing some backbone and not pulling any punches over the last couple days. I could really get used to this feeling Time for Dems to show the fuck up

Have to admit, the Movement Shooter video has become a slog. Thinking I could have done a shorter version where I talk about overarching themes, moreso than giving a full history. Sunk cost fallacy, I'm already 75% of the way there. Gotta get 'er done.

After testing prompts across DeepSeek, ChatGPT, and Claude, I can confidently say DeepSeek's model is on par, if not better than, its counterparts. Seriously impressive. (These tools have been a godsend for researching and script editing my YouTube projects, they're insanely useful)

does anyone want to help me edit my movement shooter video script 🥺👉👈 this one has been more challenging given I'm referencing dozens of games outside of my wheelhouse. i could use a sanity check.

A recent GDC survey found that 80% of game developers are now developing for PC, up from 56% in 2020. 🤯 Valve deserves a lot of the credit here. Steam is such a consumer-friendly product. But with this boom comes new challenges: it's harder than ever for game makers to get discovered. Thoughts?

130

Ben Goldhaber @itsfishstix.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

welp, I thought my Movement Shooter video was going to be a smaller project than the Tribes retrospective. seems like it's going to be about the same length and a more complex editing project. should b pretty gud tho!! (soontm)

Feeling underwhelmed by the Switch 2, and that's coming from a dyed in the wool Nintendo Fanboy. Ever since I recently got a Steamdeck and networked it to my living room TV to stream games DIRECTLY from my gaming PC at 4k/60 FPS, I have so little desire to pick up my Switch.

Apex Legends is reversing it's decision to nerf tap strafing, an advanced movement mechanic. I appreciate this move, as mechanics like this so not impact the skill floor, only add to the skill ceiling. The kids, they crave movement shooters www.thegamer.com/apex-legends...
