It has a single speaker which honestly isn't terrible for a cheap device. Its definitely loud enough, but that's why I need the headphones - otherwise it'll cost even more when I get divorced. :)

I'm just tired of "ecosystems" in general. I should be able to use everything with everything and buy the best device for that specific thing, not have to buy "their" device. I get that's the world now, but I'm just tired... we need to take this crap back away from these companies.

I don't want it at all. I really would like to rip out ALL of my Amazon speakers from when I bought into Alexa BITD, and replace it all with a local only, open source solution. And I know I can probably cobble this together myself, but I want it to all come in one box and just plug in.

Somehow I now have two illustrators installed. How? When did that happen? Why is it trying to update both of them? Like, this feels like people are releasing shit without actually using it, or its designed by committee and Jan ruins everything.

Man. WTF happened to Adobe as a company? What a total shitshow Creative Cloud is now. Trying to install just the Adobe PDF reader to test something and it installed fucking McAffee without asking and some other Adobe BS. They just really hate users I guess.

That’s fair. I agree. He’s taken a darker turn. I don’t know. It feels like the only one that ever benefits from everyone being hot and bothered about DHH is DHH. I’m just tired of all us playing into rich men’s insane behavior and giving it O2. I’d rather we just write them off and ignore.

This is such a brain dead simple solution that would help a LOT of people. But I haven't heard anyone talk about it for a very long time.

I wouldn't even screw with paying back past interest. But if the student or parent has paid back the principle, the loan should be ended and be done. Some people will scream "that's not fair! I paid my loans myself 30 years ago!" Well, great. That was 30 years ago. We can do better moving forward.

This doesn't let a student off the hook for paying back what they borrow, but surely as a society we can say its in our civilization's interest to NOT charge interest. And this would IMMEDIATELY dump a bunch more economic activity in the country as students can breathe a little more.

$45B is coincidentally what we were willing to literally set on fire in Iran (and I bet that's a very, very low and unaudited amount). So its clear as a society we're ok with a $45B cost of something.

Doing some "research" (using Claude) and setting all student loans to 0% interest would cost the US about $45B each year. We should look at that as an "investment", just like giving corporate subsidies create "jobs", this subsidy would create "workers" that would more greatly benefit the GDP.

A custom firmware for the FM-1, focused on live performance, quality-of-life features, and the addition of a brand-new Virtual Analog engine.
