Was about to snag a ticket for that hilariously bad looking ice cream splatter film, until I saw that Eli Roth (director) is another one who lost their god damned mind defending genocide.
Screenshot excerpt from Eli Roth's Wikipedia page saying the following:
In March 2024, Roth signed an open letter denouncing Jonathan Glazer's Oscars acceptance speech for The Zone of Interest, in which he criticized the dehumanization of victims of the ongoing Gaza genocide.[110] In June 2025, Roth said that activist Greta Thunberg "needs to be eaten by cannibals" after the Gaza Freedom Flotilla she was a part of was detained by the Israeli Navy while attempting to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip. He added, "If you posted Greta's antisemitic propaganda, you are dead to me."[106]

I hear you and largely agree, but I present the counter-argument of Chinese/Korean style "triangle-cut" wheat noodles.

As much as I agree with, and am proud to include Cory Doctorow's position on Surveillance Capitalism in my Master's Thesis, I just got a reminder of why Zuboff is still fucking awesome, and how both of their takes are great:
Quote from Page 188 of Shoshana Zuboff's "The Age of Surveillance Capitalism":
"If there is to be a fight, let it be a fight over capitalism. Let it be an insistence that raw surveillance capitalism is as much a threat to society as it is to capitalism itself. This is not a technical undertaking, not a program for advanced encryption, improved data anonymity, or data ownership. Such strategies only acknowledge the inevitability of commercial surveillance. They leave us hiding in our own lives as we cede control to those who feast on our behavior for their own purposes. Surveillance capitalism depends on the social, and it is only in and through collective social action that the larger promise of an information capitalism aligned with a flourishing third modernity can be reclaimed."

So much winning, we're not even going to know what to do with it. www.cybersecuritydive.com/news/cisa-hi...
A three-panel “bike-stick” meme. In the first panel, a cyclist labeled “CISA” rides normally while holding a stick. In the second panel, the cyclist jams the stick into his own bike wheel; the text “MASSIVE CUTS FROM OMB AND THE OBBB” appears. In the third panel, the cyclist lies on the ground after crashing, next to a news headline that reads: “CISA, eyeing China, plans hiring spree to rebuild its depleted ranks,” implying CISA is blaming external threats after self-inflicted staffing cuts.

Fires set outside the Democracy66 party hq. Some Windows smashed.

Here it is. Learning more about the context of the demonstration right now.
A person in a red jacket walks away from a burning car engulfed in flames on a wooded path. The scene appears chaotic, with thick black smoke rising and a group of people and emergency responders visible in the background. The caption in Dutch reads 'Malieveld politiewagen in brand...' (Malieveld police car on fire...).

Looks like a far right (or at least nationalist) demonstration is taking place in town. Apparently they've already set a police car on fire (I don't think that's what's depicted here). I don't have my equipment, but I'll reply here with updates if I have any.
"A crowd of people holding umbrellas gathers outdoors in The Hague, with thick black smoke and flames visible in the background. The text overlay in Dutch reads ‘Das pech woute wagen weg,’ and the location tag indicates ‘Haagse Bos Neighborhood.’

I keep seeing this headline making rounds. Feels really goofy, considering that Ukrainians have been doing this with regularity, and they're not doing it in the comfort of a training area. Weird flex.

On a much less serious note, while clearing things out of my childhood home, my old 2005 Jackson WRMG and my first ever "gig-ready" amp resurfaced. The guitar is weirdly still in tune after a decade in a closet, and it absolutely rips. The amp, not so much. Trying it on a friend's rig tomorrow.
A dark blue Jackson WRMG Warrior electric guitar with EMG pickups and a Floyd Rose tremolo is leaning against a Crate XT120R amplifier. The amplifier has a black cabinet with a blue control panel and multiple knobs, with “120 WATTS” and “CRATE” labels visible. The guitar is positioned in front of a wooden louvered closet door and a white laundry basket. A black padded gig bag stands upright nearby, and some guitar picks and cables are scattered around the floor.

This is what these losers are hung up on when it comes to "free speech" and "weaponization of the justice system". There truly are no principles or self awareness in US libertarians, free speech absolutists, or conspiracy theorists.
Screenshot from the US Libertarian Party Instagram from April 14th of 2025. It has an image of Alex Jones being interviewed by Tucker Carlson. The caption reads: "Earlier this week Alex Jones recorded an episode of the Tucker Carlson Show. During the interview Tucker commented on the apparent “silence” of libertarians and certain libertarian organizations on the abuse of the justice system used against Jones in an attempt to cancel and silence him. This type of violation of free speech sets a dangerous precedent for all of us."
