His "big software project" is a cack-handed attempt at a data structure in Python that, apparently, didn't follow the usual rules. He migrated it to Postgresql. The fact is he took a while to accomplish this with the help of AI, when even an amateur non-vibe coder could have handled this easily.

If you get one of those AI-generated scam calls that's doing the rounds, be sure to ask as many off-topic questions as you can. Not only might you learn something (aside from when the AI gives wrong answers, which happened twice here), but it burns the scammer's tokens and wastes their money!

Just had a call from that 'car finance redress scheme' scam that's called me and everyone I know many times this week. I found the AI-generated voice will answer off-topic questions before steering the conv back. It told me what the economy is and what the tallest waterfall is before they hung up!

My mum found this deliberately-meaningless political cartoon I drew in journo college in 2010! The plan was to send it to my local paper under a fake name, then use my internship to lobby for them to print it. They didn't. Peppered with dated references and local names, it is certainly a drawing.

Oh no! RIP Mani. I was a bit late to the party, but I got The Stone Roses for my 17th birthday and never stopped playing it. Even my dad (then in his mid-60s) loved it, and we'd play it all the way through in the car on the long drives to uni. That music certainly soundtracked that part of my life.

Also there were two jobs going: Intermediate and Senior Dev. I applied to both, the second one just chancing it. And it is the Senior role that I interviewed for! Me, the guy who applies to every job dev going and gets roundly told to go f*ck himself, not experienced enough or whatever. Senior! Hmm.

Had a rare job interview earlier. Not heard back yet but will probably fail, it didn't go all that well. I can say thought that my biggest weakness is talking about code. Like, naming facts about PHP. I build; I don't dance about architecture.
