I think that the fact that wild plants thrive in so many unique places while potted plants are fickle and easy to kill means we just don't know as much as we thought about plants

This is a Sylveon you silly

I mean, taking something away every time you add something just means you can change the numbers so that it doesn't look that way... which then will allow the player to feel more empowered rather than mitigated.

'I am a magic user, so every item I equip that benefits me must also lower my strength stat because strength is not my class skill and I should be discouraged from using it' is bad design, in my opinion.

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I'm not a fan of games that put positive and negative stats on every powerup item. I'm not saying negative stats shouldn't exist, they can still be used as a great way to create risk/reward choices for characters who potentially want something powerful. However the concept of...

Outbound calls get routed just like a call center, so instead of taking on an individual, it's a little more like you are occupying a single head of a Hydra

000

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

But it is more of a drop in the bucket then it feels like if you aren't some geared up scam caller hunter. They can just use a system to dial the phone book 1000 numbers at a time, log every pickup and unexpected disconnect as a positive, then put you in the loop

100

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

It's not exactly that. You are wasting their time yes, but it will invite more calls. Any hit is a hit for them, and there's a lot of ways they can try to get you.

ways to contact you. There is no difference between being friendly, polite, or mean. Declining and in some cases blocking numbers also validates you exist. The best thing to do is , and always will be, ignore them.

110

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

The only thing you'll do if you mess with scammers is attract more scammers. It's their job to cold contact you and either get info from you or confirm info they already have. The moment that they verify somebody exists at the other end of their contact attempt, they will not stop trying different

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Lmao right? Or a situation of 'hey when are we getting the final prop for this scene' 'what do you mean?'

010

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Oh yes and i feel like it's important to mention... These were unmodified, just greeked for tv/movie use

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Then, in Star Trek Enterprise, an episode where T'Pal has to use a fancy space tupperware device to contain an artifact... it was literally a hard shell cd organizer I had on my desk next to me.

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Two that come to mind is in the movie Minority Report, the item they were inhaling their futuristic drugs from was a launcher from a toy where you smack it to make a little car go woosh on the ground.

110

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

When you recognize a 'high tech' prop in a sci-fi show as a completely normal item, is it a good or a bad thing? (I think it's hilarious but it does break my suspension of disbelief)

If there's one thing I've learned from working with banks, warranties, and enterprise support, as well as general IT... We as a society are decades behind understanding what information you should give to whom for legitimate reasons. I'm not about to try and untangle the logic in a bsky post.. but

Okay folks, I'm asking for help on this one, I'm literally drawing a blank. What's a proper 1-2(ish) word term, think 'sequel' for a game or story that takes place in the same universe as another, but isn't a second entry or a spinoff? (Think Binding of Isaac vs Mewgenics)

to get her belly rubbed, purring up a storm, and we even play fought a little. I woke up slowly, not perfectly great but not stressed like before, and I haven't had a stress dream like that since.

only the indirect daylight from the window. I was just happy to be away from things within the dream for a moment. Then, there was a plop on the bed next to me, and my old cat was there. We were both very happy to see one another, I picked her up and hugged her, she sprawled in my lap...

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

they are situations that leave me stressed, confused, and more tired than I was when I woke up. Usually the happenings revolve around my mom and dad decidedly not listening to me, but that's a whole 'nother can to unpack. In this dream, I had retreated to my room to relax, it was dim...

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Whatever happens in the world beyond this will always remain a true mystery. But an example that I choose to believe in happened the other day. I've been having these very stressful dreams lately that put me back in the original apartment I grew up in. The dream happenings aren't all bad... but

Itimar @itimar.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Thinking about the idea that people who make a spectacle out of unwilling cat dads don't seem to understand that there's a clear difference between 'I would rather not have this responsibility', and 'you made this my responsibility, it doesn't deserve the bad end of this bargain'
