Looks like a potentially long year to be a #Dolphins fan. They did great against the #49ers holding the ball on long first-half drives, but didn't punch them in for TDs, and the defense was fair to marginal. Defense avoided second half regression for the most part, but alas the offense didn't.

My daughter was jonesing for chili because football and weather be damned, so first pot today. Subbed chorizo for ground beef and it's tasty, but didn't consider that chorizo brings salt to the pot and beef doesn't. So it was a bit salty. I'll rinse and drain the canned beans next time to mitigate.

In my lifetime, Republicans have gone from impeaching a president for lying about a blowjob to not wanting to impeach a president who commits 10 crimes per day, including fraud, stealing, & massive violations of the constitution. Spotify served me "Layla" a few minutes ago and I hadn't heard it in long enough that I actually enjoyed it. It was very nice. Classic rock radio (both terrestrial and poorly-curated online) plays you maybe 400 different songs, which isn't nearly as many as it sounds. Unhook yourself.

Fair or not, practical or not, Kalen DeBoer is out of time at Alabama. I say Alabama has to 1) either win the SEC this year, or have the SEC title game be its first loss; and 2) make at least the semifinals for KDB to keep his job. But frankly, the table is set. This team should be quite good.

It is a damned rare thing to say you wrote and recorded one of the truly iconic songs in human history, but "You're So Vain" is just that. So, points there. "Nobody Does It Better" is, I think, one of the top two or three Bond themes. Soft spot for "Vengeance." So goofy but really hard-hitting too.

An American giant of early rock 'n' roll, every bit as much as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and Elvis. I'll have to say "What'd I Say" (both parts) as my favorite. I remember my dad playing it for me out of his childhood 45s when I was 7 or so and thinking it was the greatest thing I'd ever heard.
