Around 1PM, I tend to hit a slump. I built a midday reset that actually helps. Here’s what it looks like: 1. Mute all my notifications 2. Do a chore like dishes 3. Eat lunch, watch a podcast! Not every day is perfect, but this routine has made a huge difference. How about you?

The #developer world likes to say that no one cares about infrastructure. It’s a cute marketing line to promote dev tools. But you know who does care about #infrastructure? The #SysAdmin or #PlatformEngineer (Or whatever we call ourselves now)! We should have an OpsRel Operations Relations movement!

I am saddened to say that today is my last day at #RedHat - I’ve been laid off. I had just passed my five-year mark, even imagined one day retiring with the red fedora. It worries me that a long-time #SysAdmin doesn’t have a place there, but I will treasure the relationships built and skills gained.

Eric the IT Guy @itguyeric.bsky.social · 26/02/2025

I might have a little bit of a #RedHat #swag problem. While repainting our closet, I found I had 26 shirts, hoodies, sweat pants, and socks all with the red fedora. That doesn’t coasters, cups, or anything else.
