Here’s number 5 of my felt grisaille stone gods. Got a bit carried away with this guy, time consuming but thoroughly enjoyable. My poor hands need a rest for a bit though. As usual all sewn from felt (I think around 3 metres) About a metre tall. I’ll post some process pics soon.

for me the main thing is i want remakes to be *cool* cause yeah, the old one still exists. so when a remake is not pulling enough knobs and levers it feels of wasted potential. adding modern gaming contrivances and aesthetics is not swinging for the fences

i think ultimately what i'm going to do is have keyboard inputs move the in-game cursor to the clickable things and pressing the accept key just routes through the clicking code!!

it's funny cause i started with enabling mouse controls and now adding keyboard controls for things is a pain. they're just so fundamentally different and really the issue is doing a cross-over without just duplicating your whole entire input code.

probably the real issue is we are combining fiction and storytelling with pretend violence. if ooblets or undertale or whatever had less narrative, the meaning of the pacifism is completely stripped away

resolving conflict through play has probably as long a history as humanity, and video games are just a modern extension of this, so it’s always a little silly when we take the play pretend violence in games seriously just because they are more visually “realistic”
