Apples nearly to the brim of a 7qt Crock-Pot cooked down to this! Almost time to blend and pour into jars!

A large metal bowl is filled with ice and water, with a smaller bowl floating inside it. The smaller bowl is filled with apples that have been cooked for approximately 16 hours, so the mixture is brown from the sugars and juices. A slotted wooden spoon rests across both bowls.

7.6lbs of apples peeled/cored down to 5lbs, sugared, spiced, and in the pot. My normal apple butter recipe is 12-14 hrs on low, but today is going to be different. For some reason, the Crock-Pot will *only* go on 4hrs/high. Not happy. Not sure this is a fixable thing or a replacement thing.

A large, oval slow cooker is filled almost to the top with diced apples, along with sugar and spices. There is visible steam on the center of the clear glass lid.

Wasn't quite ready to leave the UK, so I made some bara brith. 3 of us in the family LOVE it and the other 2 hate it. It's a VERY divisive treat, given the presence of dried fruit. I adore it.

2 delectable loaves of bara brith, a Welsh tea cake filled with dried fruit and candied citrus peel, rest on a rack. One is mine and one is for my kid/DIL to enjoy.

Finished the baby quilt! I love this one. Laurel Burch is a favorite of mine, and I'd done the baby's big sisters' quilts in her fabrics. So I wanted this one to be in that style too. This line is out of print, so I had to apologize profusely to my checkbook, but it's worth it. I just love this.

A rectangle quilt around 52"x56" with a centerpiece of jungle animals, bordered by black, then a border of colored squares in rainbow order with a trapunto heart in the bottom left corner. Then more black. Then the final border is a trail of animals and colorful strips all the way around. It's bound in a royal blue Minky, which also serves as the backing fabric.

Arthur's Seat is that pointy bit that sticks up. The trail is roughly 45 minutes each way (around to the left that you cannot see) but I knew it would be a stupid move for me to try it. So I hung out on a smaller hill, but also with gorgeous views.

I did a 10-hr road trip yesterday to help out my kids, so I am very late on #FwuffapotamusFriday pics. I was so exhausted that I just passed out a little while after I got home. But it's another week done. We've got some friends who are going through it, so let's send purrs and barks where we can.

The increase in spinal damage is taking its toll in a lot of ways, but one of the biggest frustrations is my weight. After my shoulder rebuild last summer, I couldn't use my crutches for 8 months. Benched. So I gained weight. And now I'm struggling to lose it being so restricted. Grrr. Frustrating.

Welp. The lumbar MRI results were disappointing, but definitely not surprising. What was there before is now pretty severe and what was no big deal before is now a Problem. I suppose it's validating? Given the pain and problems I've been having, it would've been weird if there wasn't a reason.

Helpful Tortie is helpful! She loves to be on my sewing tables but whatever is jacked up in her spine has escalated a bit such that she won't jump to my lap to get up there. We've got stairs around the house that we'd gotten for Joplin and her, so this is a new one just for the sewing tables.

Tortie floof cat has ascended a new throne, claiming it in the name of Torties everywhere. Doesn't apparently matter that the cat tree is only partially assembled.

Tortie floof cat has settled into loaf formation on the partially assembled cat tree, oblivious and uncaring of the fact that I need to flip that piece upside down in order to continue the build process.

Tortie floof cat has ascended her Tower of Tortie Conquerors and can now reach both sewing tables. She currently sits on the 2nd highest platform, contemplating her options for flood distribution with the baby quilt on one table and the binding fabric on the other.
