The US has never really been a true friend to the UK; any agreement is always on their terms. Even under Democrat presidents, the US attitude to the UK has been ambivalent at best. Far better to pursue a raprochement with our European neighbours.

Good luck and enjoy your new life! I was diagnosed with gout some 40 years ago and suffered for about 10 years before I agreed to take Allopurinol. It was a life-changer:- I haven't suffered a single gout attack in 30 years. Keep taking those pills and Happy Christmas 👍
