The problem is that there really is a lot of rank disinformation out there. Since you brought up MAGA, they are notorious for it. From AI fakes pretending at being actual images to simple fact less reporting by right-wing media. I understand your concern, but I also understand the stated reasoning.

Also, the fines and possible jail time are for misuse of official logos because those are prominent in the spread of misinformation. Frankly, I agree. In the age of deep fakes, something has to be done to try to prevent people from being misled by those seeking to do harm.

…what bugs me most, aside from the idea of people wanting fascism, is the complete lack of gratitude. It was the freedom of democracies that gave the the ability to become rich in the first place, but they are so greedy that the idea of sharing a small portion with the nation is anathema to them.

I am tired of epitomes in comics. Characters can’t just be superheroes anymore, they have to be the avatars of something or other, the manifestation of a god, or just the epítome of some concept. Maybe if you can’t tell a story without relying on such things you’re not that god at it.
