This would improve my life: I walk into the kitchen. Alex Horne hands me an envelope with a wax seal. Inside it says "Get these children to eat a balanced meal. Most nutrition consumed wins. You have 20 minutes. Your time starts now." Then whimsical brass music begins to play.

Don't tell marginalized folks they have an "obligation" to vote for someone who dismisses them. If your cause is righteous, you won't have to bully people into supporting it. If you find yourself bullying people into supporting your cause, you need to reevaluate either yourself, the cause, or both.

For real if he keeps up with the renaming shenanigans can we rename all of the stuff he's slapped his name onto after he leaves? Tubman Tower has a nice ring to it.

I've had a morning of grouchy, grumpy opinions about things and I'm doing my best to remind myself that at 45 years of age I am a prime position to be learning from both people older than me *and* people younger than me, and I need to listen.

Uh... I got invited to play a folk-punk show. I'm more of a folk-geek, or a folk-dweeb. But of course I said yes. Can anyone who has been to a folk-punk (or punk-punk) show give me insight on what to expect?

So it's been a really long time since I read the book, and I haven't seen the movie yet, but I get the impression that "the Odyssey" is basically "Star Trek: Voyager" but not in space?

Am I weird in my thinking that reporting on war casualties should always include numbers from ALL sides of the conflict? I keep seeing how many Americans have died in Iran (18 by some counts). But the total death toll seems to be around 8,000+, including over 1,000 civilian deaths. A life is a life.

So the unvetted Senate candidate in Maine with no experience who “didn’t know” he had a Nazi tattoo now has an sa accusation against him? I still don’t understand why he didn’t get dropped at the Nazi tattoo stage.

I saw "Haaland" was trending and I wondered what had happened in the New Mexico Gubernatorial race. I guess I've given away that I'm not following the World Cup this year. But seriously, I think Deb Haaland is a pretty solid candidate for New Mexico Governor, check her out!

I wish I could conjure up some outrage about the UFC match on the White House lawn. But I am using all of that for the dismantling of the EPA, the undermining of the Park Service, the masked agents kidnapping and murdering people, the swamp concentration camp, the self-dealing, and so on.

I had a conversation yesterday with a man who immigrated to the U.S. 20 years ago (from Serbia!) & is now a citizen. He can't understand why so many Americans stay quiet about what's going on now. I suggested maybe it's like talking about the weather: we all feel the heat, why mention it? (1/?)

Do I understand? The party of fiscal responsibility is proposing to approve $200 Billion in spending on a war. The President, who ran on ending forever wars, wants the $$$ despite telling us there‘ll be no boots on the ground, & that we’ve destroyed “100%” of our adversary’s military.

Star Trek fans know if an alien or computer sounds familiar, the actor is likely Jeffrey Combs. Disney fans know that any given animal, robot, or weird little dude is likely to be voiced by Alan Tudyk. I am sure there must be a woman actor who is just as widely used. Can anyone suggest a name?

So the war is unpopular, we don't have a plan to win it, we don't have an idea of what winning would be, we bombed a school full of kids, & we did this right after alienating all our allies BUT at LEAST we also ignored the fact our enemy could block the global fuel supply w/ no effort whatsoever.
