Ngl I think purchasing a Harry Potter or FNaF product are both prettt bad. Either way there is a high likelihood your money will be directly funding a political hate movement, even if that likelihood is a bit higher for JK Rowling

I think the only 'conspiracy theory' in the video I am sympathetic to is that there was forewarning of 911 that was ignored. I mean, I'm pretty sure that one was confirmed right? I don't really think it's equivalent to calling 911 an 'inside job'

There's value in creation for the sake of creation. The processes of researching, scripting, filming, editing and producing a final product can all be fulfilling in of themselves. Plenty of artists already use inefficient means for their art because it's fun and gives you something

We have no idea if he apologised to her. I hate these definitive statements coming from both 'sides'. We have no idea what happened, the victim has not commented. We don't know what he said to her, we don't know how long they stayed in contact, we don't know what she wants. This is all just awful

To be honest I think his response would have been far worse if he tried inserting an apology to the victim or an apology for his action. I don't know what a 'good' response would look like, but including that would seem fake and awful. His apology should be given directly to her, not his 'viewers'

To be frank I doubt this will destroy his audience that much. Exurb1a had just as bad allegations which he responded to far, far worse and he barely took a hit. Jacob Geller gave what many consider a decent, even good, response, and most people don't do background checks on who they watch either

No I absolutely don't think anyone's obligated to continue supporting him. I just think that 90% of the discourse I've been seeing has been about whether he should have the right to a youtube channel/public platform, which is a very separate issue

Rehabilitation doesn't only apply for justified crimes. If that were the case, rehabilitation wouldn't even be necessary at all

I just refuse to believe it could be that bad,, how could they get 94% of critics to recommend it? This may be my Australian bias speaking

What do you mean by "with society"? This reminds me of the prople questioning whether or not they should 'forgive' him. The crime was not done to us. The victim is who matters, not our own personal feelings and not some vague notion of 'society'. I don't get this line of thinking at all

I agree he should have disclosed it to people he collaborated with, but I feel weird about this framing of "he hid it". He didn't hide it, he just didn't go out of his way to disclose it publically to random people. That makes sense to me when considering the victim's privacy

SA'd a partner while she was sleeping in college. This was revealed by a random Twitter conservative unaffiliated with the victim. The victim is unknown and we don't know anything about her perspective beyond her filing an article ix

If you think there are no victims who have been able to find closure with and even sometimes forgiveness for their abuser you are just plain wrong. Everyone is different and you don't get to speak for all victims

If you are on the internet, people are going to dig into it and find out who the victim is. Heor the victim themselves may have not wanted that risk to occur

irrelevantbs.bsky.social @irrelevantbs.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
People would, and probably will, dig unto who it was he raped. That's the problem with the internet. I can understand choosing not to make it public when the victim does not want that

A bit, though I think the main environmental concerns with AI are the damage datacentres do to the local areas they are built in. Their net impact on climate change is way smaller than much more pressing concerns like the beef industry and stuff

Genuinely what is it if not a tool. I'm not saying it's necessarily a good or useful or worthwhile tool, but it is definitely just a tool. It's not going to become the Basilisk

I remember when I was finishing high school a few students dictated their final exam essays due to issues making it very difficult for them to write. It's a skill definitely, but learnable

I have used Google Scholar and I have used AI. I can tell you which one gave me more results which were actually related. I know at least some of what it missed because I have never exclusively relied on AI

It's much better than you are giving it credit for. It tends to be far easier to find related papers through AI than searching and again, when going through the papers they are relevant 95% of the time. Have you actually tried using AI before?
000 0
irrelevantbs.bsky.social @irrelevantbs.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
As a starting point for research especially it's great. You can get it to shoot you a few relevant papers which will make it clear whether the topic you are thinking of is a good route to go down. I imagine that must've been very attractive to Hank given his job
000 0
irrelevantbs.bsky.social @irrelevantbs.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
The papers are relevant 95% of the time, which is much better odds than going off the title and much faster than going to each site to read every abstract. It won't give you *every* relevant paper, but it will give you more than like, Google Scholar or something if you keep pressing it

irrelevantbs.bsky.social @irrelevantbs.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Searching for the right key words to find relevant research papers can be really annoying. You probably know that if you've done much research or had to write a paper before, it sucks. With AI you can just describe the topic generally in casual language and it finds relevant papers
200 2
irrelevantbs.bsky.social @irrelevantbs.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
The point of using it for research is just to get it to link and collate studies. You still have to read the studies and assess their accuracy. Ai just massively speeds up the process of finding relevant research

I get copyrighting a full video, but it goes way too far when it's copyrighting a character or world or idea I think. And even if someone's addition to a copyrighted work is very minor, like adding subtitles or something, that still is a valid form of artistic expression I think that counts as new

Actually things like flat-earth conspiracy theories directly come from just believing people's words without evidence. People will always be disagreeing on topics, it makes sense to not have blind faith in internet people until someone provides some kind of evidence

I will say that within an Australian context, the lack of swearing from politicians does create a level of incenserity and a seperation between them and the typical citizen

He also does specifically state 'in the Bible', which wouldn't include external seperate sources like the Talmud. In fact it's likely suggesting directly that he is saying the role of the Tower of Babel specifically in Christian theology

Big Joel's take though is specifically about how Pope Leo is using the story. So it's specifically about Pope Leo's interpretation. I don't think you can divorce Big Joel's take here from what he is directly responding to

Read through the 'transphobia' sections about transandrophobia. I'm still not sure where you got your initial claim from but I can understand why people would not like these posts. She does come across as a very typical "fuck all men" feminist which I understand can be quite damaging at times

I like to give people the benefit of doubt, or at least interpret things in the way which makes the most sense given their previously presented views. I find it odd that this other interpreter would just assume she is being self-contradicting rather than just reading her posts slightly differently

Also that screenshot you just posted there is about how her abuse story didn't align with the typical presented narrative of the pedophile constructed socially. I thought it was prerry understood now that most abisers do not fit the role of the white-van man and are often close or loved figures
