I almost completely reorganized the interior of my living room and my bedroom and it's kinda crazy just how much more at home I feel now

I wanna get the last 3 achievements in OneShot but it has this thing where it makes you feel really guilty for resetting the game so I will unfortunately never ever play it again

Finally decided to move my tv from the living room to the bedroom. This should drastically improve the porn experience (I mostly did it to save room in the living room)

Why would you take DLSS, an incredible tool that has allowed for creators to make their games bigger and more bombastic while staying performant across machines, and then release a version where its big new features is fucking taking your performance & creative integrity? Shoulda been its own thing.

This is scheduled for one of my albums now but I honestly haven't made much progress on it. Probably my favorite WIP I have though. It's the only project ever where I almost couldn't make it through recording vocals without crying.

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

The whole point of DLSS was to get better performance by rendering at a lower framerate and passing it through automatic super sampling, and now DLSS 5 is just like "ok but what if we made it slower"

This one time I tried making a song on stream and I wanted a section where it sounded like a big crowd was clapping along so I think I just sat there for 15 minutes recording myself clapping along

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

It feels like good progress to collect a couple of WIPs together for a potential next album, but this is the 3rd or 4th time I've done so since I last released anything. Maybe I should actually finish one of these albums at some point.

I come up with too many hobby programming projects and I'm kinda thinking I should start pruning them based on how I think they would look on my CV for getting the career I actually want to have. I also need to like actually finish any of them

I should make house more often

I don't think I'm gonna manage to achieve 2/3 of my new years resolutions

Programmers come to rely on LLMs a lot because the alternative is having to ask questions of stack overflow and that is probably the most toxic support forum out there. Or at least, that's the reputation it has.

Straight up just continued working on an old LBP music sequencer for the first time in over a decade

000

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

Has anyone else ever been through traumatic shit and just wished their friends would occasionally ask about it casually? To me it kinda sucks that everyone always avoids topics like that because they think it's a sore topic. I just wanna talk about what I feel without having to bring it up myself.

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

The LittleBigPlanet music sequencer is really just kinda brilliant design imo. I really like piano roll system where each note played is a connection between consecutive nodes, which just gives a massive amount of freedom.

Feels good to do a late-night walk to the park. Was way too hot all day so it's a nice feeling walking with a normal temperature. Plus walking is healthy! Anyway I'm gonna get a McFlurry I think

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Gonna drop this here for now because it'll be a little while before I get around to seriously record the rest of it. Super hyped to finally get this far though!

They say that even using a phone camera to take a direct picture of the partial solar eclipse is a bad idea because it can burn out the sensor So I took this picture and damn look at that weird ass lens flare

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

I'm trying to go through my LBP3 music but my PS3 crashes quite a lot. I don't really know what to do about this. I feel like I should just figure out how to get my save files in an emulator at this point but that seems kinda complicated

100

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

I'm generally doing really good right now, like I'm super happy and productive and feel like I'm accomplishing things in my life but oh my god my sleep cycle hasnt been this bad in years and I keep just spending way too long on my phone/laptop each night and how do i fucking stop aaaaa

When you realize just how fast your computer actually is, you start getting really really annoyed at all the simple software that manages to be slow

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

I'm intending to follow through on solo hobby projects a lot more often and I have a queue of projects I'll work on one at a time. So for now it's the custom HTML canvas context, then a very big individual song I've had in progress for like 7 years, then an album I've had in the works for 2 years.

110

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

Why the fuck are there so many CSS color string formats and why are all of them so complicated

100

Frank @irratix.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I've been working on a custom HTML canvas context, mostly because I've often found CanvasRenderingContext2D to be a significant bottleneck. So my goal is to make a near drop-in replacement. The feature-set I've built it extremely limited for now but results are encouraging.

There was a point in 2019 were polling suggested the two party system in the UK was being broken by the Brexit Party and the Libdems. But before the next election they had both collapsed again and Labour and the Conservatives were the largest by far. Are we repeating that with the Greens and Reform?

Lowkey kinda considering building a website that mimics LittleBigPlanet music sequencers Add it to the list of projects I may or may not ever get started on

Told everyone I was gonna stream a ton of Barnyard this weekend and instead I did everything except stream. Now it's sunday evening and I decided I'd rather go on a walk. Been a long time since I went on a proper walk, but it's pretty nice :)

I haven't really followed pop music at all this year, is it any more eventful than last year?

Started a lot of sad and angry rock projects lately, thought it was time for a change of pace.

I don't hate the idea of banning social media for children but 1) I'm extremely worried about the consequences of how that's implemented and 2) it feels like the wrong approach because it suggests an assumption that adults are more responsible on social media, which I don't think holds up.

I give Burnham like 3 weeks before the entire country calls him the worst prime minister ever, regardless of what he does

I was kinda hoping this would go to penalties and that Argentina would win. Juts so that no one would ever argue with me again that penalties are an incomprehensibly dumb way to fix a tied game

I am actually kinda baffled how immediate and massive the backlash is to Sony no longer supporting physical media and it feels kinda unwarranted to me. Since games receive regular online updates, I don't think people have generally played the content of these discs for over a decade.

fixed your headline

A hit song on the Billboard 100 charts is termed *$k$-good* if it is _ever_ in a weekly top-$k$, and *$k$-immediate* if it _debuts_ in the top-$k$.

An artist is *$(n,k)$-Olivian* if their $n$ first $k$-good hits are all also $k$-immediate.

*Headline 1.* Olivia Rodrigo is the first $(10,10)$-Olivian woman.

People are saying Trump is now the worst president in US history, but let me ask you, is he really worse than G.W Bush, or Reagan, or Hoover, or Harding, or Buchanan? The answer is yes

There's a news story going around that Starmer is expected to resign on Monday. It seems unconfirmed but I suppose it's more likely than not. I think Starmer is just unprecedentedly bad at politics but I imagine it's been a good move to wait until Andy Burnham takes his seat.

I feel like I should be able to talk more about my ex and the breakup because holy shit that was traumatizing. It took until the last couple weeks before I really started becoming resentful and I feel like I haven't really had a good opportunity to express that. idk maybe I should get a therapist
