I dont need or particularly want the original cast back for a new series (I want fresh non impersonatey performances) but jeeeeeeesus no

Genuinelt I dont know about academy but I think enterprise has competition

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

#Beatbreak for me ended up being a show with a very strong start the pettered out once they hit the gift arc. The sidelining of the stars and tactics, the rushed sanzomon material, the fact they only try and give gokuwumon motivation at the very end Ill sadly remember the ending more than the start

000

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Still not here. Need to chase it up

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Theyre missing a few. The ox is probably the tertiary given how the orignal myth featured it in a prominent role

010

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Thoughts Do i try the DWJ run again in the hopes I'll get something new from it now im more than a year removed. Bearing in mind I legitimately remember despising the final 2 issues of that run.

Im really enjoying Omegahorn. Need to check out Gavan at some point but omegahorn is working for me

010

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

The tension between men in this show

010

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

So far im enjoying My-Th. There's some good plot hooks and some great action. Also the secondary is already the more interesting and his path to leaking the zodiac is pretty obviously laid out. Suits are really working for me this season too. Much more than Zeztz.

000

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

It's not even that. It kinda...sets that up but then throws that out the window. Because it turns out the light of the matrix was literally Optimus? I think if this had been divorced from current events people would be trying to find less meaning in it

010

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I describe it as great animation, direction and acting...inexplicable writing

030

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Im just sadly priced out of regular collecting atm. The prices in ireland are ludicrous. Leaders are 90 us dollars

031

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Not to fight and then it's about Optimus walking off to kill Unicron cause that's his actual role. But then there's sequel bait for something we were being told was a construct by The One? It's very messy and and i am very rarely this confused on how media wants me to feel.

120

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

An hour later and i am more confused than I was to start on what the messaging for Optimus Prime Awakening was. It starts off as almost a comment non the futility of it all then becomes a message of if you went back you couldn't save anyone then becomes a message of knowing when

110

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Also given the void rivals shout out i suspect I know who is in line to handle the rumoured skybound series

110

Irishpalaeonerd @irishpalaeonerd.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I've never seen 1986 on a big screen before and it highlighted a lot of the movies highs but also its lows. I'll probably talk about them later. But Optimus Prime Awakening. Hmm Well animated, well directed and well performed. But exceptionally messily written.

Yuuuup Liege maximo is on sale for 55 atm. Im literally just sitting and waiting to see if he'll drop a little more before going out of stock. Same with all the leaders this year. And I missed them all. Not fun

New leaders in smyths. One is a repaint. Of a figure that was...55 new. This translates to just shy of 90 dollars And people wonder why some of us feel prices out of collecting mainline.

Zeztz is a show i really struggled to engage with unfortunately. The general vibe never clicked with me. Siege is fun but overall particularly the second half is a lot of wasted ideas to me. Particularly the gore nightmares and especially Catastrophe. Last ep....messy. very messy

There's a large record of how much I dislike the Legend of Korra for many reasons but one being the treatment of the original cast Avatar Aang is what I wish Korra could have been. Not the cast. But the everything else.
