The irony of it is that I *thought* that by avoiding therapy I got to keep all my strong emotions that I felt entitled to (rightfully if I may add) but in actuality I *was* overreacting but in incoherent ways. Like how you turn your anger into fear and then fawning behavior.

Hejhehehjnwiwnj one time at my last job I forgot my ID so I couldn't get onto the plane I was supposed to be cleaning (international) and I started panicking so bad that one of my coworkers pulled me aside two hours later to tell me that was low-key pathetic and I need to do better as a man

As your someone who is a bit below the threshold of functioning, whether or not you realize it you ARE suppressing your emotions at certain times in order to function. You might not hulk out at work for example. Sometimes when you go therapy you actually become better at processing

Actually that's exactly the fear I had going into therapy but the first thing I learned in DBT was that my emotions were not wrong. As my therapist put it, your feelings aren't wrong but they can be inappropriate for what the situation calls for

🥹 the only reason I didn't do it was because I had fucked myself out of my last support system so i was afraid if I killed myself nobody would care and that bothered me. I'm glad I was weirdly narcissistic about it in hindsight
