Truly. I understand the need for art criticism, but a lot of these reviews seem to lean heavily on analyzing her as a brand. I'm not saying there is no room to critique that, but it's an album review ffs

Yes especially in their cardigans, sequins, or cozy clothes! So much joy.

oh ew that is loser behaviour from them - we were literally encouraged to enjoy it like a party

I encourage you to go and jam out - empty theatre means you can spread out and be excited with less social pressure! Plus you know the songs better now :)

You know, I felt that way with 1989 when it first came out because I loved Red so much - a lot of this is very different from her usual sound!

Father figure is my current favourite - both the explicit and the clean are so good!

They can sit with their wrong opinions, but blasting them in public is...a choice. I'd be curious to hear what their music taste is, but I don't wanna give them space in my brain.

It feels like that - but like...why? Just people being punk on the internet? I can't imagine having the energy to track an artist I don't like and actively comment on everything they do.

Music video is also sooooo good, I'm hopeful!

It shouldn't, because I know my own reaction to the music is positive, but I get sad thinking about the scale and volume of criticism

also love that she brought secret sessions to the theatres since she can't host them at home anymore - I love the idea of encouraging a group listening party!

I don't understand the gp's reaction - what are they looking for from her? Why are initial reviews always negative?

@alefvernon.bsky.social I’m simply floored. Another stunning image.

An illustration by Alef Vernon showing the anthropomorphized Taylor Swift albums. The text across the top is “I protect the family.” And the image shows Showgirl’s costume surrounding her sisters.
