wasn't until seeing the localized title to this that I realized just how different 塩対応 (lit. 'to treat saltily') should be in English, "The Salty Satou-san" would mean something completely different There's also 敵に塩を送る (send salt to your enemy) which actually means treating them fairly...

I've been informed that they cast him in the last movie that recently came out. Bleaghh, way to stick to your principles twin engine...

thinking again about how the Mononoke movies dropped Sakurai as the Medicine Seller and explicitly stated it was because it wouldn't be appropriate to keep him cause a big theme of the movies is the mistreatment and sexual exploitation of women. They were so real for that.

man, towards the end of s1 of Hotel Inhumans the production values were so low I'm absolutely shocked they're making a s2. Or maybe they're doing it cause they figure it would be cheap to do? I can't imagine the first season sold well at all though...

probably high time I remedied a gap and watched the Mononoke movies

R1999 is pissing me off again WHY do mane's bulletin stages take like 30 minutes to finish why does every new archetype get 10 billion extraneous animations

A Wild Last Boss Appeared is yet another transported into a video game show but I enjoy that it doesn't take itself too seriously, right down to the protag making an RV for her crew and the dwarves who are Definitely Not From Space Battleship Yamato

A sad realization for me that the twt exodus was mostly limited to leftists while fan artists stayed, so now bsky TL is largely dumb discourse and RTing chuds to dunk on them (thus giving them far more exposure than they deserve)... In other words it's become the reason I wanted to leave twt

Dunno what it says about me when the TL starts talking about some celebrity being a newly-revealed sex pest and I've never even heard of the dude

1) This isn't about generating games or assets with AI, it's just about using automation tools for some processes like bug testing which isn't inherently bad 2) IGN should be embarrassed for this headline. It doesn't say "AI generation" as in generative AI, it's 世代, "generation" as in "time period"

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:

Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

besides Rayearth, there's another 90s isekai shoujo manga getting an anime adaptation, and that's Kanata Kara / From Far Away. Rayearth preserves some of the 90s-ness of the character designs while updating them a bit but Kanata Kara doesn't seem to have updated much. An interesting contrast.
