They should now be called "The Bootleg Bootleg Beatles" for accuracy. An amazing show though and one of them even says "fucking hell" when they play Hey Jude.

She has but not in the way they think.

In her favour, there's absolutely no Tory MP who can challenge her and do a better job. She's still preternaturally shit though.

The Tories are on glue. It's the only explanation that makes sense.

Yeah the democratisation of the resources and capability increases the chances of a successful hack happening.

I personally think *people* could *use* AI to destroy the world or severely disrupt it. I've got a strong suspicion it will be used to hack the use of prime numbers in RSA encryption (used in credit card payments) at some point.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Daily Mail has misreported or made up what he said either.

If I submitted a CV that stated I have competitive skills, experience and qualifications would the company you work for accept that without details or think I'm someone just changing their arm?

You mean staff who want management to be up front with them and want to work in a culture of mutual respect?

An Emirati couldn't possibly have skin on this game could he?

I don't know. For me it's a nice little pointer saying "the management for this company are cunts. Don't bother unless you're desperate"

Subtly drive a wedge between them, turning them against your wife. Alternatively, accept it and maybe suggest there's times she doesn't answer the phone. (E.g. when you're fucking)

Oh and the 80s Thatcher "recovery" was largely bollocks too. What there was, was built on North Sea Oil, loose credit and the Brinks Mat robbery.

My memories of the 70s are very vague - however, I do think some left wingers hark back to it the way some right wingers harked back to the 50s. Nostalgia is a disease anyone can be a victim of.

See "The Spy Who Loved Me" for the best adaptation of a Bond novel

True - but I think novelty songs as a whole died a death after the 90s

Childlike novelty songs evolved I'd argue - there was a brief trend of dance versions of kids TV shows theme tunes in the 90s. Teletubbies Say Eh-Oh was probably the last?

"Chips" Channing, if I remember correctly, bemoaned the first Budget of the war as dismantling capitalism Besides, the country was more evenly split than popular perception believes. While a crowd of people cheered Chamberlain in Downing Street a much larger crowd in Trafalgar Square was against it

So employers can also decide consequences?

Pottsy @ipottsy.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
So, if someone loses their job because of something they've said but not been convicted of a crime, that's why not ok?

Pottsy @ipottsy.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
That's ridiculous. Lesotho doesn't have oil
010
Pottsy @ipottsy.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I broadly agree, but it does beg the question: when are the consequences disproportionate to what is said, and who decides that?

See Toby Young's so-called "Free Speech Union" which has been noticeably silent about those arrested for supporting Palestine Action.

That will depend on what the increase in the unit cost would need to be. (Yea people who contribute to the national grid may be better off, but so will low users).

I really like Morse but the idea it was somehow a highbrow TV series I always found bizarre. High production values, a 2 hour slot at a time when such things were unusual, Morse's highbrow pretensions and the Oxford locations helped disguise adaptations of good but pulp detective novels.

The Palace haven't denied the King said it - they've merely implied it. Christ, why are mainstream journalists so fucking gullible (not yourself)?

What has the palace actually said that contradicts what he said? As opposed to what they try to get people to infer, naturally.
