Yep. Possibly another early comp next year? It wouldn't surprise me.

Two nice albums in the charity shop next to the garage where our lovely car was passing it's MOT. A whole pound spent.

Don't forget your skirting board ladder* for the bottom half. *Very old 'send the apprentice to get' joke. See also 'box of sparks' 'left-handed screwdriver' 'long weight' 'tartan paint' etc etc

I only found out about this yesterday from the Resident website. And if I was unlikely to listen before I'm definitely not going to bother now. I've been unimpressed with pretty everything Fall related since MES went.

#IntoTheGroove is 1 today, and I have nothing special ready for an anniversary plug bc it’s been that kind of week. But as you start making Christmas gift lists, do consider us, if you haven’t already (and thank you if you have).

I kept my records from the late 70s and 80s but only bought CDs from the 90s onwards and started buying vinyl again a few years ago. But still buy plenty of CDs.

I think I got my first player in 88/89. First CD I owned was the Compact CD XTC compilation, which is upstairs on the shelf. But I'm too lazy to get it!

The Sony CDP-101 cost around $1,060 at today’s exchange rate, or around $3,700 adjusted for inflation.

Get on board with this. Nick's music threads are always a joy and sometimes quite expensive!

Yep. Sometimes I'll see yours or Nicks and occasionally both, and often neither. I like it on here but that really needs sorting out.

My three years of 16.66% discount at Boots was handy. I really missed it when I left. Which was my worst employment mistake.

One of the best things about being able to rip my own blu-rays now is that I get to choose the artwork for each film. Don't judge me about the merit of the movies here, I'm ripping some very obvious one to check for picture and sound quality. So far so good.

The Hammer version really leans into it. It's lurid, silly, beautifully acted, Cushing is a great Holmes, Morell does his best with Watson, but Lee is fantastic and plays Sir Henry properly as a romantic cad. I've always loved it.

I have them both on blu-ray and very much enjoyed them. Not quite as good as Brett or the Hammer Baskerville (which is my favourite adaptation) but definitely well worth a watch.

The first week was terrible, no one really knew what was going on including the manager! But we sort of worked it out as we went along. The one good thing is I get 2 Saturdays off in 5 now instead of 1 in 6, that's much better! I hope it all gets sorted out as quickly as possible.

Sending my best to you Andy. I think you mentioned you were moving to the new system soon. I hope you find it better and less stressful, most days it has eased the workload and made things more manageable. Hope it's the same in your office. Take care.

There is approx a million times more stuff than when I was growing up. There were 3/4 TV stations and about 7 or 8 radio stations that you could listen to. Even my Gran knew who Adam Ant or Debbie Harry were because they were everywhere. That sort of thing will never happen again.

#NowWatching Perhaps it's me getting old but I'm finding these a joy to watch. The early Carry On's are quite comforting especially after a bit of a crap week.
