You protect what you love. You love what you know. You come to know the natural world the way you come to know a person: through patient, particular, attentive presence over time. The garden across seasons. The creek you know by name. The bird whose nest you've watched for an hour. 1/2

The retired birder who can name every species that visits her feeder. The neighbor you chat with about their rain garden. The outdoor worship service where someone points out the hawk overhead and for a moment, everyone just stops and watches. This is social space. Casual community. 1/2

Some of the most important climate engagement happens with strangers. The documentary that broke something open in you. The interfaith service where you realized you weren't alone. The climate scientist you follow online whose work helps you understand what's happening. 1/3

5 reasons faith leaders should take part in our next climate cohort. 1. Your congregation's already engaged in tackling tough topics - hunger, homelessness, immigration, etc. Climate change is a threat multiplier, making many things worse. It's not "just another issue" to work on. 1/3

Purification is more than washing the body. 💧 Wudu cleanses us spiritually, but Islam also teaches us not to waste. Water is a blessing and the earth is a trust from Allah. Purify the body. Purify the heart. Protect the blessing. 🌱
