#BirdOfTheDay theme is #JKLM bird species starting with these letters. Here's a lovely (American) Kestrel on the Citron Trail in Larkspur #Marin #California 🪶

American Kestrel full length, seen from the side, facing left at the top fo a snag. It has a sweet little face with dark grey stripes on its cheek, fluffy feathers with light gray spots on teh chest and belly.

I thought it was something routine, but then I got worried. Sensitive kitties are sensitive ❤️

What procedure did he have done?

Okay, #Marin locals, help me out on Measure CC. As a Kaiser user, I don't benefit from this directly. If prices are too high for a private medical corp to maintain itself, that's kind of on them, no? On the other hand, I want to be civic-minded; it's the only trauma center in Marin. So: yes or no?

Thank you for the fun fact! I've been dive-bombed by a Skua in Orkney, so I know how scary that can be

A very self-actualized Western Gull on the dock yesterday, caught and consumed this little crab with great zest. Corte Madera Creek #Marin #California 🪶

I'm very proud of my little nasturtium that I grew from seed! Granted, it's not the color advertised on the seed packet (it was supposed to be a similar dark red to the mum in the background) but I love my little baby anyway. #Gardening #ContainerGardening

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #ShoreBirds. I had never even heard of a Surfbird until I saw one in #SonomaCounty #California. Winter range is among the longest and narrowest of any No. American bird, Alaska to Chile. But winter range extends inland only a few yards above the tide line." 🪶

A chunky grey shorebird on a rock next to the Pacific. It has a short chunky blunt bill and lovely speckles on its tummy.

Wow that's a lot of stilts! Lovely birds

One of my favorite shorebirds! So pretty

Good to know -- my husband has had this done to both his big toenails and didn't miss a beat. I was surprised how difficult I'm finding the recovery

Thank you, that is very reassuring

I'm trying to keep my eye on the prize, because this has been an issue for me for a long time and I can't wait to put it behind me once and for all

I had an ingrown toenail treated 12 days ago -- they removed the offending edge of the nail down to the root then apply Toenail Roundup to the root so that part will never grow back. It is not healing well, so I had it debrided today. 0/10 do not recommend.

I love it. I went to the Chagall Museum last year in Nice and they had a whole exhibit on it, with his sketches and so on and it was fascinating. I've also seen it "for real" at the Palais Garnier on a different trip and it is indeed joyful!

Parker's having a good hair day, like if you agree. 👨‍🎤

Speaking as a legal person, the the suit has to do w/ French heritage protection & the artist's moral rights. I'm not sure this is a strong case. Speaking as an artist, I'm #TeamChagall. There are winners and losers in art & Lenepveu has lost. Maybe they can find somewhere else to display his work.

This is truly the stupidest timeline

Wow! That must have been something to see

#BirdOfTheDay theme is #LookingDown. Here's a Great Blue Heron admiring his reflection at Crissy Field #GGNRA #SanFrancisco 🪶

A Great Blue Heron with its feet in silvery water, head bent down with the tip of its bill just touching the water, full body reflected.

I tore mine off the ceiling and, in my pajamas, went down the 3 flights of stairs of my condo to the parking garage and threw it in the trunk of my car.

I think with higher quality trousers the assumption is that you will have them custom altered, so they give you plenty to work with. If these are cheap-ass pants, then I can't explain.

We had to evacuate during one of the California fires and threw both our cats the same carrier. High strung cat proceed to both poop and vomit on himself AND the other cat. When we arrived at our friend's house who took us in, I was like, sorry, cleanup on Aisle 4.

I love Wendy Hiller! She stars in my favorite all-time movie (well one of them) "I Know Where I'm Going"

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Brown, any bird with Brown in its plumage. I recently had a nice encounter with a rare and endangered (but making a comeback!) Ridgway's Rail on Corte Madera Creek #Marin #California 🪶

A largely brown rail, swimming in marshland picklweed, seen from the side, facing to the right. It has a thick orange bill and small reddish eye.

Cindy, alas, crossed the rainbow bridge this year at age 17. She cost me a fortune in vet bills -- mostly dental treatments -- but I loved her to bits

Today's #BirdofTheDay is #Ducks&GeeseInFlight. Here are some Pink-footed Geese showing off their pink feet. I took this at #WWTMartinMere. 🪶

4 Pink-footed geese flying left to right against pale blue skies, wings outstretched. All of them have bright pink feet trailing behind, backlit by the watery winter sun.
