I think the thing that gets me most about my family is that I never know what I’m going to get. Sometimes they’re loving and fun, sometimes they’re erratic and angry. Makes it hard to ever feel comfortable.

I really enjoyed going to trivia and felt like it was a safe and fun place to hang out. But I am kinda annoyed that this host is only woke when it’s cool or funny to be and not when it actually means standing up for something.

On the way out a man came up to the group of young women and thanked them for speaking up. I did too. They said this was one of their first experiences there. I don’t think they’ll be back.

He’s normally very vocally anti-Trump and I thought he might make this into a teaching moment by encouraging people to donate to RAINN or similar. But when a table of girls (and I) booed loudly, he was like, “If you have a problem, you can take it up with them. I don’t have a problem with that.”

First time back at trivia in months last night. We’d been focusing on outdoor activities and baseball. One team made a Cornell rape joke into their team name and the host was nominally critical but basically was like, “we encourage people to deal with what’s happening with gallows humor.”

Glitterer played the Sylvan Theater on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The benefit for Ward 1 Mutual Aid was the first punk show there in 30+ years. Somebody’s Daughter and Posición Unida opened, and Positive Force’s Mark Andersen gave impassioned remarks.
