Maybe my personal issue with the f-word itself is that it’s so insanely versatile that every usage has to be examined for context, usage, and inflection to determine if it’s a good thing, a bad thing, a literal thing, or some other variant meaning.

I’ve never met a QuickTime event that I like. Maybe I’m forgetting some small one, but for me, it never enhances the cutscene or makes me feel like an active participant. It feels condescending and perfunctory or punishing me for being too ADHD to pay attention and react accordingly. Or both.

The dynamic of “the thing that makes you feel secure is also the thing that makes you feel insecure for needing it” is so immediately and deeply relatable to me that I may have to bring it up in therapy.

Maybe… maybe Silent Hill was the regrets we made along the way.

Hot Take: The most frustrating thing Millennials do is whine and complain about the younger generations being lazy, dumb, entitled, etc, when we went through that same damn crap when we were their ages. Also could be said about every generation old enough to blame the kids.

I’m gonna say this and I don’t care who hears it. F motion sickness. Was a short distance weekend vacation too much to ask?

Surely the next movie will be called The Four 007s and involve a strange time parodox they have to team up to resolve.

The reason I could never buy into horoscopes or other personality groupings is that there’s no way to put my ADHD and Autism comfortably in the same bucket.

I’ve been trying to explain to my child that a TV show was made 60 years ago, but takes place 200-odd years in the future. And that it’s fiction. It is surprisingly easy mess up this explanation and convince your child Star Trek was made in the 1800s.

Is it fair to complain that Ryan Reynolds has been in enough R-rated action movies that he shouldn’t play a character that shocked or horrified while in a violent action scene? Probably not the way I phrased it, but there’s something there.

Autism: I don’t really like podcasts that just keep going on random tangents instead of focusing on main topic. ADHD: But what about… Autism: Those are different!

Okay. Is anyone having to constantly unsubscribe to YouTube channels that you’ve never subscribed to? Often ones you’ve never heard of before? This is insidious.

Why did no one tell me that Tom Paris was in Masters of the Universe? I have a right to know these things!

I watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It’s good. Best MCU Spider-Man movie. I ranked it #9 in MCU over all. Still trying to rank it among Spider-Man movies, but I just don’t know where it lands with the 2 spiderverse movies. This is all gut feeling stuff. And my gut says “maybe.”

I had/am having a dreadfully busy summer. Apparently didn’t see any movies in June. But I’ve been managing to turn that around. I don’t usually see this many movies in the same year of release so close together, much less a streak of good movies. What have I become?

I’ve had this thought that if movie studios could do remakes the same way AAA video game remakes are being made, they wouldn’t bother with legacy sequels. Because it would fill that same purpose while allowing them make fewer and smaller changes to the already beloved original.

I don’t want a perfect season 1. I don’t want a show that’s only good when it’s great. I want a show with ups and downs, but even the bad episodes are worth watching at least once.

Shamefully I have to admit there’s always a small part of me that goes, “Oh you think this new movie is BETTER than one of my absolute FAVORITE movies of all time!? Just for that, maybe I don’t want to like it.” And then I have feed that part of me a sandwich and apologize to the guests.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture has went from being a shameful secret no one talks about because it’s too embarrassing to a shameful secret, because the long scenes of 70s models and SFX are basically high class pornography at this point. And we don’t want to give the neighbors more to talk about.

I’m going to say this before the movie comes out because I’m sure it’ll be good and what I have to say will seem even more like petty gripes later. I’m not a big fan of MCU Spider-man’s friendship trio. I don’t hate it. I like everyone in it. I just don’t love it.

“Save $600” is just not a great selling point if you haven’t told me the price yet. All you’re telling me is that whatever it is probably costs a lot more than that and you’re in no hurry to tell me that price.

I was never good at it at the best of times, but man, has weeks-long stress, overtime, and sleep deprivation tanked my ability to maintain workplace small talk. I’m dying out there, man. I’m even fumbling the easy stuff.

It’s been a busy week. I needed a lazy morning. But I knew we had to leave at 9AM for a thing, so I dutifully pushed through the cumulative exhaustion. Only to be reminded, we have to leave at 1PM. And I was told this at least twice before that it’s not 9AM. Why is my brain like this?

This may be an impossible and thankless job, but I want to draw a line in the sand between media trash and media slop. Maybe this is the difference between low effort and no effort. Maybe it’s the difference between broad, but shallow appeal and having no appeal.

I’ve done my parental duty and watched Minions & Monsters. And for what it’s worth, the parts that directly pandered to me were probably the most enjoyable the franchise has ever been. And take that as the massively qualified statement that it is.

I’m glad I didn’t start reading the original James Bond books when I was young. I’m not convinced I would’ve enjoyed them as a kid. But I am certain I wouldn’t have had the strong enough critical eye for the main character.

Is it my fate to evermore explain the existence of rounding errors? Not how specific ones happened. Just that rounding errors exist and happen when you round at different places in a calculation.

The worst sin Return to Silent Hill commits is taking a good philosophy of adaptation (in the broad strokes) and fumbling it so much that it reinforces less productive attitudes to adaptation. Because it’s hard not to wish for a more direct, faithful adaptation after that.

Video Essay: …I’m currently re-reading for the first time… ADHD: Hold on. ASD: It’s fine. Keep playing. ADHD: No. No, you don’t understand. It can’t be for the first time if you’re re-reading it. ASD: This is the second time he read it. ADHD: … so… why didn’t he just say that!?

One of my curses (among many) is being a night owl when everything else in my life would be made easier if I was a morning person. It’s like being the fastest runner only after the race is over.

Can we normalize tv shows continuing while being okay? Not every show should need to be a huge phenomenon. Not every hugely popular show should remain hugely popular to justify its existence. Sometimes it’s okay to find a small audience and have an appropriate budget for that niche.

Growing up means learning how to learn and also learning how to unlearn. As someone who grew up with a lot of backwards ideas, unlearning is a skill almost separate from learning. Because you’re not adding new information, you’re prying out insidious bad info that doesn’t want to share space.

There’s a lot of reasons not to go back to my old job, but hearing about all of the problems they are having makes it strangely tempting. I know how I would fix that mountain of problems. I know how I could do my job better now. I could make it a less awful. This is why people date their exes.

A not-insubstantial part of my job is looking for errors and kindly asking others to fix them. And since it’s important for me to not make assumptions, I’m frequently pointing out issues, rather than telling them directly what to fix. And I just have to pray I don’t come off as passive aggressive.

Do you think there’s correlation between being neurodivergent and gravitating towards narratives where characters have an antagonistic relationship with their own mind? Oh now we’re doing the silent treatment, huh?

Y’know. For all the overexposure Wolverine has had in film over the decades, they’ve only done the middle-finger blade joke once, at that beginning. I’m not saying they should do it again. Just surprising that they haven’t, is all.

I think a large portion of people who are generally-to-enthusiastically pro-ai think of it as no different than comment sections, random forums, and other low-barrier internet content. Things they see as such low-quality slop that the internet facelessly churns out anyway.

Part of me loves the idea of going back to college and learn something in a completely different field of academia. The other part is desperately trying to remind me how much we hate listening to lectures 90% of the time, even on a subject we like.

This is a really strong line up. Every one of them would make an excellent James Bond. But can we consider someone who hasn’t already played him?
010
Tak @intra86.bsky.social · 10/05/2026
So the theory goes that Blofeld is actually the cat and he just possesses various humans. And that’s why so many different actors have played James Bond.
